    Write dwn the sentences “—Where is the ball? —It’s in frnt f the dg.” n the blackbard. Help students prnunce the wrd “frnt” crrectly. Pay attentin t the sund f the letter “”. Students read the wrd after the teacher. Practice it in a high and lw vice.
    The teacher shws tw pictures n the PPT and asks. Students answer accrding t the pictures.

    Write dwn the wrd “behind” n the blackbard and teach it. Pay attentin t the sund /aɪ/. Let students practice it in a high and lw vice. Help students understand that the meanings f “in frnt f” and “behind” are ppsite.
    The teacher shws tw pictures n the PPT and asks. Students answer accrding t the pictures.

    Write dwn “beside” n the blackbard and teach it. Students read it after the teacher three times and practice it in a high and lw vice. Help students remember the wrd like this: be+side=beside. Help students understand it like these: (Pint t tw students in the class.) A is beside B. (Pint t the dr and the windw in the class.) The dr is beside the windw.
    Let students ask and answer.
    S1: Where is the ball? S2: It’s beside the dg.
    (4)Learn the new wrd “between”.

    Help students answer: It’s between the dgs.
    Write dwn the wrd “between” n the blackbard and teach it in a high and lw vice. Students read it ne by ne. And the teacher crrects the wrng prnunciatin. Stick the crrespnding picture n the blackbard. Let students ask and answer like this: —Where is the ball? —It’s between the dgs. Explain the usage f “between…and…” and make an example like this: It’s between the yellw dg and the black dg.
    Shw a picture fr students t practice. (课件出示:一个小男孩在爷爷奶奶中间的图片)

    Ss: He is between his grandparents./He is between his grandmther and grandfather.
    (5)Learn the new wrd “abve”.
    (课件出示:1. 一张照片放在床上和句子“There is a pht n the bed.”2. 该照片在床头的墙上面和句子“There is a pht abve the bed.”)
    Ask students t cmpare them and guess the meaning and the usage f “abve”. Help students sum up the different usages accrding t students’ answers. Write dwn the wrd “abve” n the blackbard and teach it in a high and lw vice. Ask students t pay attentin t the sund /ʌ/. Then shw the fifth picture f “Let’s learn” n page 52 and ask. (出示课件)
    T: Where is the ball? Ss: It’s abve the dg.
    2. Read and act.
    (1)Read “Let’s learn”.
    The teacher plays the recrding. (出示课件) Students read after it. After reading tgether and reading freely, students can have a cmpetitin between bys and girls r amng grups. Make sure they can read the new wrds and phrase crrectly.
    (2)Pair wrk.
    First, the teacher asks and students answer accrding t the pictures f “Let’s learn”. Then students wrk in pairs. Ask and answer with the sentence patterns “—Where is the ball? —It’s…” After asking and answering in pairs, students act ut the dialgue in class.

    1. Quick respnse.
    The game is dne between bys and girls. Put the five wrd cards n the blackbard. A by and a girl stand in frnt f the blackbard. The teacher says a wrd r a phrase ne time. They take dwn the card as fast as they can. The winner can get a sticker fr the grup.

    The teacher shws sme pictures and says sentences. If the sentence matches the picture, students say “Yes”. Or they say “N”.

    T: The balln is abve the desk. (Shw a picture in which there is a balln n the desk.)
    Ss: N.

    Students take ut a bk, a pen and a pencil. The teacher says the psitins f the bk. Students put the bk t the right psitins. The teacher says like these: The bk is abve the pen. The bk is beside the pencil… Students check the answers with their partners.
    Step 4: Cnslidatin & Extensin
    1. Can yu fill in the blanks?
    The teacher shws sme pictures and sentences with blanks n the PPT. Students fill in the blanks with the new wrds and check the answers with the teacher. (出示课件)

    Students ask and answer with the sentence patterns “—Where is/are…? —It’s/They are behind/abve…” like these: —Where is the white cat? —It’s between the chairs. —Where is the tree? —It’s in frnt f the huse. Chse sme grups t give their answers. The ther students say “Yes/N” and crrect the wrng answers. Chse the winner.
