T: Hell everyne, glad t see yu again! Did yu have a nice summer hliday? Are yu happy t be back t schl and see all yur friends?
Ss talk abut their summer hlidays.
T: This summer hliday I went t Australia with sme f yur classmates and friends. We tk a lt f phts. Wuld yu like t have a lk?
Shw the pictures and intrduce sme places f interest and animals in Australia.
T: Lk, we tk a pht with this famus man--- Batman. He’s a her and peple’s gd friend because he helps peple in danger. D yu agree? What d yu think f him?
Ss talk abut Batman with the adjectives describing appearance and persnality, such as friendly, helpful, kind, plite, clever, brave, etc.
T: There are sme mre wrds t describe peple. Fr example, we can say Batman is gd-lking. But we never say he’s beautiful! We dn’t use beautiful t describe a by r a man. If smene likes music r is gd at music, we say he r she is musical.
Teach “gd-lking” and “musical”.
1. Play a guessing game. Ss describe their best friends in the class and guess wh are talked abut.
2. T: Just nw we heard sme f the students talk abut their best friends. Culd yu tell me which wrds are used mst ften?
Ss: friendly, helpful, plite…
T: S these are very imprtant qualities f a best friend, d yu think s? What ther qualities are imprtant t yu?
Ss cmplete the table in Part B, P7. Then wrk in pairs t exchange their ideas and have a debate.
