    T: Hell everyne, glad t see yu again! Did yu have a nice summer hliday? Are yu happy t be back t schl and see all yur friends?
    Ss talk abut their summer hlidays.
    T: This summer hliday I went t Australia with sme f yur classmates and friends. We tk a lt f phts. Wuld yu like t have a lk?
    Shw the pictures and intrduce sme places f interest and animals in Australia.
    T: Lk, we tk a pht with this famus man--- Batman. He’s a her and peple’s gd friend because he helps peple in danger. D yu agree? What d yu think f him?
    Ss talk abut Batman with the adjectives describing appearance and persnality, such as friendly, helpful, kind, plite, clever, brave, etc.
    T: There are sme mre wrds t describe peple. Fr example, we can say Batman is gd-lking. But we never say he’s beautiful! We dn’t use beautiful t describe a by r a man. If smene likes music r is gd at music, we say he r she is musical.
    Teach “gd-lking” and “musical”.
    1. Play a guessing game. Ss describe their best friends in the class and guess wh are talked abut.
    2. T: Just nw we heard sme f the students talk abut their best friends. Culd yu tell me which wrds are used mst ften?
    Ss: friendly, helpful, plite…
    T: S these are very imprtant qualities f a best friend, d yu think s? What ther qualities are imprtant t yu?
    Ss cmplete the table in Part B, P7. Then wrk in pairs t exchange their ideas and have a debate.
    Sentences may be used:
    I think my gd friend shuld be very … because…
    I agree. / I dn’t agree with yu because …
    It’s quite imprtant fr a friend t be …? D yu think s?
    I dn’t think my gd friend must be very …
    3. T: Why d yu think he/she is yur best friend? What makes him/her s special t yu? Can yu talk t him/her abut anything? D yu talk t him/her when yu have prblems? D yu believe what he/she says? When yu are happy r sad, d yu talk t him/her? Why?
    Teach “sad”, “believe”, “hnest” and “jy”.
    Ss cmplete Part A, P7 and reprt individually.

    T: S yu are teenagers. We call children between 13 and 19 teenagers.
    Teach “teenager”.
    T: We have a gd friend, Eddie. Is he a teenager?

    T plays the tape f the Cmic strip and Ss try t find ut the answer t the questin.
    (Hb is Eddie’s gd friend because they always share things with each ther.)
    3. Ss read the Cmic strip and answer the questins:
    (1) What des Eddie give Hb?
    (2) What des Hb want?
    (3) D yu think Eddie is a true friend? Why?
    4. Ss read the dialgue in pairs.
    5. T explains sme language pints.
    1. Ss act ut the dialgue and they are encuraged t add in smething they like.
    2. Discuss: Wh d yu like better as a friend, Eddie r Hb? Why?
    3. Ss wrk in pairs t ask and answer abut their gd friends.

    B: … Can yu tell me smething abut yur gd friend?
    T: Tday we have learned sme imprtant qualities abut a gd friend. It seems that we all think appearance is nt s imprtant, but a friend shuld be helpful and hnest. And I hpe everyne can be like that and yu will have mre friends.
    1. Describe a gd friend f yurs with the wrds and phrases learnt in this lessn.
    2. Finish the Wrkbk exercises.
