Step1 Warming-up
T: Frm the title, yu can knw we will talk abut a gift. Because Lingling’s birthday is cming, sme f her friends are talking abut what gift t buy fr her. First, let’s see what they are.
Step 2 Presentatin
T: OK, Yu have knwn what presents they are. Nw, let’s listen t the tape. Yu have tw tasks: first, number the wrds and expressins as yu hear them, and then find ut what present they want t buy fr Lingling.
Step 3 Listening
T: Lingling’s friends are celebrating Lingling’s birthday at her hme. Let’s listen what they are talking abut and answer the questins:

What kind f ther traditins are they talking abut?
T: Listen again and check what yu usually d in China.
1) Open a present immediately when yu receive it.
2) Accept a present with bth hands.

6)Break smething during the Spring Festival.
Step 4 Read
Ask the students t read the dialgue by themselves first. Then wrk in pairs. Finally the teacher will chse the lucky number t read the dialgue crrectly, ludly and beautifully.
