教学目标 | Knowledge objectives ①Key vocabulary: cap, chopstick, toy, video game, gift, surprise, immediately, difference, accept, tradition, example, for example, must, month, serious, taste ②Key sentences: What a surprise! But back in the US, we open a gift immediately. In China, you accept a gift with both hands. For example, in my home town, people say you mustn't do any cleaning on the first day of the Spring Festival. Ability objectives ①Be able to understand the conversation about social customs and living habits; ②Be able to use vocabulary and phrases correctly in this unit. Emotional objectives ①Let students actively participate in communicative activities and speak English boldly. ②Let students love Chinese culture and respect others’ culture. |

教学过程 | 1.Lead-in: ①Teacher asks students to look at the pictures and answer the questions. ②Ask some students to say their answers. 2.Presentation Task 1 New words ①Teacher asks students to see the pictures and say the words. ②Organize the students to read the new words together. Task 2 Listening ①Ask students to listen and number the words and expressions as they hear them. ②Ask students to match the words and expressions in Activity 1 with the pictures. ③Play the tape and ask students to skim the conversation. ④Organize the students to read the conversation with the recording. ⑤Ask students to check (√) what they usually do in China. ⑥Ask students to complete the passage with the words in the box. ⑦Teacher checks the answers with the class. Task 3 Notes ①Organize students to come to the blackboard and show out some difficult language points that they found. ②Teacher explains the language points. Task 4 Sentences ①Teacher shows the important sentences. ②Ask the students to read through the sentences. Task 5 Speaking ①Ask students to think about what they must and mustn’t/ can’t do in the situations and write notes. ②Ask some students to say what they must and mustn’t/ can’t do. ③Let some students act out their dialogues. 3.Practice Ask students to finish the practice.
