In a recent annuncement, Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute f Technlgy (MIT) said that they have jined frces t ffer free nline curses in an effrt t attract millins f nline learners wrldwide.
Beginning this fall, a number f curses develped by teachers at bth universities will be ffered nline thrugh a new $60 millin prgram, knwn as edX. “Anyne with an Internet cnnectin anywhere in the wrld can use ur nline curses,” Harvard President Drew Faust said during a meeting t annunce the plan.
MIT has ffered a prgram called Open Curse Ware fr ten years that makes materials frm mre than 2,000 classes free nline. It has been used by mre than 100 millin peple. Harvard has lng ffered curses t a wider ppulatin thrugh a similar prgram.
