When we lk at a lvely baby, a puppy r a really cute kitten, many f us want t squeeze it. Why is that?
Accrding t a study published in the jurnal Frntiers in Behaviral Neurscience, it's a typical experience f “cute aggressin”. The experience results frm the fight between the brain's “emtin system”, which impels (驱使) peple t squeeze cute things, and its “reward system” which deals with feelings f “wanting”.

By cntrast, the reward systems f the peple lking at the less cute adults were fund t be inactive, and they seemed t be less impelled by their reward systems.

As Katherine Stavrpuls, the lead researcher f this study at the University f Califrnia in the US tld Science Alert, “The cute aggressin is the brain's way f ‘bringing us back dwn’ by balancing ur feelings f being verwhelmed.”

S, althugh cute babies and adrable animals may lk cmpletely helpless, their vulnerable (易受伤害的) appearance may in fact help them t survive.
