"Frm the utside, the research prcess lks very frmal and the artistic prcess lks smewhat messy. But the scientific prcess can als unfld in an unpredictable way."
"Scientists can learn a lt frm artists," says Weijers. "Assciatin and creativity are central t art. Thse aspects require mre attentin in science as the creative prcess is the key f science."
"As a scientist, yu use different methds, but it is equally abut hw yu visualize yur understandings f reality and the cnnectins between them. This is smetimes just as visual as art," says Weijers. One example is a recent special prject in which Weijers and his clleague Jris Sprakel, prfessr f Physical-Chemistry and Sft Matter, measured the frces that act n plant cells.
