Ha Shuxin, 24, sees sign language as her first language, as her parents are deaf. “I pick up sign language befre I culd even talk,” she recalled. Frm a yung age, Ha has been helping her parents and ther deaf individuals cmmunicate. In 2018, she became a sign language interpreter at a law cmpany in Chngqing, assisting deaf clients in legal matters.
Since sign language has a smaller vcabulary, Ha ften encunters cmplex legal terms that have n direct match. In such cases, she patiently breaks dwn the meaning fr deaf peple.
