We are a team f undergraduate researchers frm Nanjing Agricultural University, and we have created a new way t fight a harmful substance（物质）in wine using synthetic bilgy. This achievement earned us a gld medal at the Internatinal Genetic Engineering Machine（iGEM） cmpetitin in 2023.
Studies n synthetic bilgy are similar t piling LEGO bricks, but in this case, the bricks are pieces f DNA. Scientists put these pieces tgether t give cells（细胞）new abilities.
Over the curse f six mnths, we successfully designed a DNA structure that can detect a dangerus txin（毒素） called Ochratxin A（OTA）, which can cause serius health prblems like cancer and kidney damage in humans. “Yu're a fan, right?” a friendly vice appeared behind him. Jack turned t see the shpkeeper, an elderly man with a warm smile. “Yes, they're amazing!” Jack said. “They're strng, and they help s many peple. They have super pwer. I wish I culd be a superher t.”
“Yu can be,” the shpkeeper encuraged.
Surprised, Jack asked, “But hw? I dn't have any super pwer.”
Smiling sftly, the shpkeeper bent dwn, placing his hands n Jack's arms. “Why wuld yu need them?” he replied kindly. “See that wman ver there? She needs t take care f three children. Hwever, she still actively helps the elderly in the cmmunity. And d yu knw Jimmy? He is a firefighter wh has saved cuntless lives. Being a her isn't abut super pwer; it's abut what's in yur heart.”
Lcking eyes with Jack, the shpkeeper smiled. “Yu dn't need super pwer t be a her. It starts with yur heart.”

With a grateful nd, he accepted Jack's ffer. Just then, Jack realized that being a her wasn't just abut saving the wrld—it was abut making smene's wrld a little brighter.
