    A.The Terractta Army.
    B.Xi'an Ancient City Wall.
    C.Giant Wild Gse Pagda.
    D.Shaanxi Histry Museum.
根据Xi'an Ancient City Wall部分中的“Xi'an Ancient City Wall was built in the 14th a military defence system.”
2.What d the Terractta Army and Xi'an Ancient City Wall have in cmmn?
A.They were built at the same perid.
B.They bth divide the city int tw areas.

Greenland hlds enugh ice t raise glbal sea level by 7 meters if it were all t melt (融化). The sheet currently lses arund 270 billin tns f ice each year, and cntributes t mre than 4 millimeters' glbal sea level rise annually—frm 2013 t 2022, the average annual glbal sea level rise was 4.62 millimeters. Hwever, Greenland's massive ice sheet, which is melting because f climate change, culd be saved frm cmplete melting even if glbal temperatures rcket past key internatinal targets, a study suggests.
Using climate mdelling, the research cncludes that Greenland's melting will accelerate abruptly if the average glbal temperature crsses a threshld (阈值) that is n higher than 2.3 ℃ abve preindustrial levels—and culd be much lwer. That threshld might be getting quite clse: the average temperature in 2025 is likely t hit 1.5 ℃ abve preindustrial levels. But we d nt necessarily tip the Greenland ice sheet just because we crss the threshld. Even if temperatures sht up by 6 ℃ r mre abve preindustrial levels, humanity will be able t reduce much f that ice lss if warming is limited t 1.5 ℃ within a few centuries, the study shws. It means that the ice sheet can be saved.
But Nils Bchw, a climate scientist at UiT The Arctic University f Nrway and lead authr f the study, and thers are quick t nte that taking actin against climate change nw will be cheaper and easier than trying t cntrl glbal temperatures later. “It's a wrthwhile tl t explre because what we have dne s far in terms f plicy is nt enugh t be within the limit,” says Bchw.
The authrs examine the effect f average glbal temperature increases rather than temperature increases in the Arctic, which are happening at least three times faster than thse n the rest f the planet. And the study assumes that sciety will smehw wrk ut a way t cut dwn greenhuse gas emissins(排放)sharply in the future, perhaps thrugh carbnstrage technlgy. Petrini, the cauthr f the study, says he desn't want peple t think the Greenland ice sheet is ging t be fine. “There's a chance t prevent sme serius cnsequences even if there's n plitical will nw,” he says. “But we shuld d ur bit tday rather than later.”
4.What d we learn abut the Greenland ice sheet?
A.It's disappearing at a cnstant rate.
B.It's lst mre than half f its ice.
C.It cntributes much t the sea level rise.
D.It has raised glbal sea level by 7 meters.
根据第一段中的“The sheet t mre than 4 millimeters' glbal sea level rise annually—frm 2013 t 2022, the average annual glbal sea level rise was 4.62 millimeters.”
5.What des the underlined wrd “tip” in Paragraph 2 mean?

    A.Overturn. B.Discunt.
    C.Preserve. D.Explre.
根据画线词后的“Even if temperatures sht up by 6 ℃ r mre abve preindustrial levels, humanity will be able t reduce much f that ice lss if warming is limited t 1.5 ℃ saved.” 故选A项。
6.Hw des Nils Bchw find present plicies n climate change?
A.They push the climate t the limit.
    B.They have n practical use.
C.They are suitable fr climate cntrl.
    D.They need further imprvement.
根据第三段中的“It's a wrthwhile tl t explre because what we have dne s far in terms f plicy is nt enugh t be within the limit”可知,这是一个值得探索的方法,因为到目前为止,我们在政策方面所做的还不足以把全球气温控制在合理范围内。
7.Which can be the best title fr the text?
A.Glbal Warming: Destryer f Ice Sheet
    B.Hw t Save Greenland's Massive Ice Sheet
    C.Climate Mdelling: Helper f Scientists
D.Hw Greenland's Melting Affects Our Planet

[2023·新课标Ⅰ卷]When I was in middle schl, my scial studies teacher asked me t enter a writing cntest. I said n withut thinking. I did nt lve writing. My family came frm Brazil, s English was nly my secnd language. Writing was s difficult and painful fr me that my teacher had allwed me t present my paper n the sinking f the Titanic by acting ut a play, where I played all the parts. N ne laughed harder than he did.
S, why did he suddenly frce me t d smething at which I was sure t fail? His reply: “Because I lve yur stries. If yu're willing t apply yurself, I think yu have a gd sht at this.” Encuraged by his wrds, I agreed t give it a try.
I chse Paul Revere's hrse as my subject. Paul Revere was a silversmith (银匠) in Bstn wh rde a hrse at night n April 18, 1775 t Lexingtn t warn peple that British sldiers were cming. My stry wuld cme straight frm the hrse's muth. Nt a brilliant idea, but funny; and unlikely t be anyne else's chice.
What did the hrse think, as he sped thrugh the night? Did he get tired? Have dubts? Did he want t quit? I sympathized immediately. I gt tired. I had dubts. I wanted t quit. But, like Revere's hrse, I kept ging. I wrked hard. I checked my spelling. I asked my lder sister t crrect my grammar. I checked ut a halfdzen bks n Paul Revere frm the library. I even read a few f them.
When I handed in the essay t my teacher, he read it, laughed ut lud, and said, “Great. Nw, write it again.” I wrte it again, and again and again. When I finally finished it, the thught f winning had given way t the enjyment f writing. If I didn't win, I wuldn't care.
