    Every artist′s wish is t create smething that expresses an idea. But where d artists get their ideas frm? Wh r what inspires them? Here we find ut mre abut the influences behind the successes f there very different artists.

    1 Flrentijn Hfman is a Dutch artist,whse large sculptures are n display all ver the wrld. One way fr him t find inspiratin is turning t his children′s tys. These bjects have given him ideas fr his animal sculptures,such as the famus Rubber Duck.
    A mre recent wrk f his is the huge Flating Fisb,which was set amng the beautiful landscape f Wuzhen West Scenic Zne.
    2 Hfman′s inspiratin fr Flating Fish came frm Chinese flk tales passed dwn thrugh the generatins. He was particularly interested in the ld stry abut a fish jumping thrugh the “Dragn Gate”.
    This stry came t life fr Hfman when he visited Wuzhen and saw hw peple lived there.
    3 “During the walk and my stay here in the twn,I saw the fish being fed by peple. Yu see als sme fish sculpted n the wall.” These sights set Hfman′s idea fr Flating Fisb in mtin.

    6 Yang Liping′s passin is dancing. After winning a natinal cmpetitin in 1986 with her Spirit f the Peacck dance,she has been knwn as the “Peacck Princess”. The inspiratin fr her famus dances has cme frm the time she spent in Xishuangbanna,Yunnan Prvince.
    7 “I feel very grateful fr the years in Xishuangbanna,” say! Yang. “It gave me a chance t g deeper int the lives f varius ethnic grups... Our ethnic grups, especially the Dai peple,admire the peacck. They think the peacck represents the beauty f nature. I especially like the dance style f the Dai peple and it gives me lts f inspiratin.

    过去分词(短语)作定语的几个特征:(1)前置与后置的特征:单个的过去分词作定语一般要放在所修饰的名词之前,过去分词短语作定语要放在所修饰的名词之后。

    (2) 展示出的时态特征:及物动词的过去分词含有被动或完成的含义。

    (3) 扩展成句的特征:过去分词作定语时,可通过添加引导词和系动词be的适当形式,扩展为一个定语从句。

    该句子中 As Tan nce said 为as 引导的非限制性定语从句;s as t 后面为目的状语。as引导非限定性定语从句时可放在主句之前,也可置于主句之后,当然也可放在句中。此时修饰的是整个主句,并对其进行补充说明。

    as 也可以引导限制性定语从句,主要用在 和 the same as结构中,可代替表人或物的先行词。
    Eg. There is such an unfrgettable experience as they have. 他们有着如此难忘的经历。(此 结构中,as 后的句子修饰限定 experience,as 作宾语)
    Nbdy will bey such a rule as prevents us frm freedm.没有人会遵守这项阻止我们追求自由的规定。(as 在这里作主语)I have never seen such a beautiful girl as she is.我从来没有见过像她这样漂亮的女孩。(as 在此处作is 后的表语)This is the same name as I have heard.这个名字和我之前听过的一样。(as作宾语)
