Period 3 (Section B 1a-1d)设计说明 在教本课时内容时,首先将课本1a中的两幅图画投影到大屏幕上,让学生们就所列数字进行提问,及时复习如何表达量,自然导入本课的重点——倍数的表达。鼓励学生以小组合作的方式提问并写出尽可能多的句子。在合作中可以激发学生的参与意识,培养他们的合作能力。本节课的另一个难点是小数的读法。在听之前,先将1b所列数字呈现在黑板或大屏幕上,帮助学生读出所列数字,为下一步的听力排除障碍。为了让学生更好地掌握听力内容,在完成1c任务之后,增加一个信息表格。在学生完成表格之后,后面的练习是就表格所列事实进行比较,达到语言输出的目的。教学目标 1. 知识目标 (1)掌握单词和短语:cm (= centimeter/centimetre),weigh,birth,adult;at birth,up to。 (2)掌握句型:①This elephant weighs many times more than this panda. ②At birth,a baby panda is about 0. 1 to 0. 2 kilos. ③At birth,a baby panda is about 15 cm long. ④A panda can live up to 20 to 30 years. 2. 能力目标 (1)能够掌握课文中出现的重点句子,学会表达事物之间的倍数关系。 (2)熟悉量的表达,尤其是小数点的正确读法。 3. 情感目标 通过对大象和大熊猫的了解,激发学生对野生动物的关爱之情,培养保护环境的意识。重点难点 1. 重点: (1)熟悉量的表达,尤其是小数点的正确读法。 (2)学会更多表示比较的句式,如倍数的表达等。 2. 难点: 学会更多表示比较的句式,如倍数的表达等。教学准备 多媒体课件,录音机,磁带。教学过程 Step 1 Check the homework 1. Retell the passage on Page 51. 2. Complete the words according to the Chinese meaning. (1)重量是……;称……的重量:we igh (2)出生;诞生:bi rth (3)adj. 成年的;成人的 n. 成人;成年动物:adult 3. Translate the following phrases. (1)出生时:at birth (2)到达(某数量、程度等);至多有;不多于:up to Step 2 Warming up (Show the questions on the screen.)Discuss the following questions. Students can add more questions. What’s the biggest animal in the sea? What’s the biggest animal on land? What’s the smallest animal in the world? What’s the most famous animal in China? Step 3 Presentation a baby panda an adult panda Use the pictures to teach the new word:adult. Step 4 Practice (1a) 1. Show the pictures on the screen. 2. Have students ask as many questions as they can. Example questions: How tall is the elephant? How heavy is the elephant? /How much does the elephant weigh? ... 3. Lead students to read the example sentence. Then have students compare facts about these two animals. They can work in groups to write as many sentences as they can. 4. Check their work. Answers will vary. Step 5 Listening 1. Work on 1b. (1)Write the numbers in the box on the blackboard,and then have students read the numbers. (2)Play the recording for the first time. (1)Have students look through the sentences and predict the answers. (2)Play the recording again. Students listen and complete the sentences. (3)Check the answers. Let students work in groups to check each other’s answers. Step 6 Free talk Let students make their own conversations by using the new words and sentences they have learned in this lesson. Step 7 Cooperative inquiry Discuss the following language points in groups and fill in the blanks. 1. 英语中倍数的表达法 (1)倍数+形容词或副词的比较级+ than...
