Ryan Hnary, a 12-year-ld student in Califrnia, has persnal experience with wildfires. One day, he was with his father at a tennis turnament when he saw wildfires raging acrss his hme state n TV. “I called my mm and asked if she was kay.” Ryan recalls. Once he knew that she was, he asked his dad why wildfires gt ut f cntrl s ften. “We’re planning t send peple t Mars but we can’t detect wildfires,” Ryan says.
