    At Phenix Bikes, a bicycle shp, students are learning t repair bikes. Phenix Bikes sells bikes t the public at their business in Arlingtn, Virginia. But it als teaches teenagers hw t repair bikes.
    Mst students at Phenix Bikes start in its after-schl “earn-a-bike prgram”, at middle and high schls in and arund Arlingtn Cunty. Once a week ver a 12-week perid, students learn repair skill. They learn hw t use tls , fix flat tires, crrect the wheels, and change gears(齿轮). The first lessn includes splitting the bike, and by ding this, they learn all the parts f a bike.
    In the first few weeks, they wrk in small grups t repair a bike given t the shp. The bikes ften have missing r damaged parts.     Anthny is a student at nearby Wakefied High Schl. He just cmpleted his bike. He said it was nt in gd shape at first but was the kind f bike he was lking fr and culd be made int smething better. He said it had n light, n frnt tire, and was withut a chain, which cntrls the gears. He said he jined the prgram t get better at wrking with his hands and fixing things.
