A grup f children in Rseville, Califrnia helped the plice find a missing 97-year-ld wman. The Rseville Plice Department tld the public n September 30 that Glenneta Belfrd had gne missing. “Help us lcate a missing persn,” the plice department said ver ludspeakers.
Lgan Hultman, Kashtn Claibrne and Makenna Rgers wh are all 10, and 11-year-ld Hpe Claibrne heard the call and immediately tk actin. “My friends Hpe and Makenna were playing games and they heard a helicpter saying a 97-year-ld lady was missing,” Lgan said. “S they came t tell me and Kashtn abut the missing lady. The beautiful blue whale is the largest animal in the sea and can weigh as much as 200 tns. Blue whales, like s many f the species, have been cnsidered seriusly endangered but a new Antarctic survey shws an bvius increase in numbers. This is certainly smething t celebrate.
The 21-day 2020 survey led by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), shws that blue whales and ther whale species are making a cmeback in the cld Antarctic waters. The survey marked the end f a three-year wild water prject ff Suth Gergia Island in the Suth Atlantic.
The survey included 40 researchers frm nine cuntries. It tk place in the mst heavily hunted waters in the wrld where 176,000 whales were caught in arund 60 years f hunting peratins frm shre statins n the island and frm factry whaling ships. The researchers have sptted 55 whales in 36 sightings already in 2020 in a lcatin where nly ne whale was sptted in 2018.
