设计说明 本课时学习有关推测的相关对话。教学时先复习Section A中的3a课文导入新课,然后给学生展示UFO的图片,普及一些关于UFO的知识。接着展示一组图片让学生推测发生了什么事,过渡到1a与1b的活动中。通过不同的任务对听力材料加以处理,让学生多维度地利用听力材料。 教学目标 通过本课时的学习,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标: (1)单词:land, alien, suit (2)短语: run after (3)句子:① He could be running for exercise. ②He might be running to catch a bus to work. 2. 能力目标: (1)学习动词表推测的用法; (2)通过听力训练,培养从听力材料中提取模板语言和重要信息的能力。 3. 情感目标: 让学生根据已有事实推测可能性,培养其分析、判断、推理、发现等思维品质。 重点难点 1. 重点:掌握现在进行时表推测的语言结构“must/might/could be doing”。 2. 难点:正确使用情态动词表推测,并能区分might, must, could, can’t的用法。 教学准备 PPT课件,1b, 1c的录音 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Revision Revise the Strange Happenings in My Town by completing the information in the form.
Then get some students to retell the strange happenings. Show the students a picture and get them to guess what it is with must, might or can’t. UFO: unidentified flying object (不明飞行物,飞碟) Any object that flies and cannot initially(最初)be identified as an airplane, helicopter, blimp, balloon, kite, or any other object that normally flies, is a UFO. Many flying objects that are listed as a UFO can later be identified as an object made on Earth, then they can be called an IFO, or identified flying object. Show two pictures of UFO and an alien to the students and get them to talk about them. Have you heard about UFO or aliens? How do you think of them? Do you like them? Step 2 Work on 1a Look at the pictures. Then use the words in the box to write a sentence about each picture.
a. A UFO is landing. b. ______________ c. ______________ Check the answers. An alien is running after a man. The man is looking back while running. Discussion Get the students to talk about the three pictures. If these three pictures were from the same story, which one do you think might come first? Why? A: I think Picture B might come first because the man in Picture C is running, and in Picture B, we can see an alien is running after him. B: I don’t agree. I think Picture A must come first. In Picture A, we can see a UFO landing. The UFO has to land before the alien come out and run after the man. Step 3 Listening 1. Listen and number the pictures [1-3] in 1a. Then write two or three sentences to finish the story. Check the answers one by one. The answers are: 2 3 1 2. The ending of the story: A woman is filming with a camera. They are making a movie. Listen again. Complete the sentences.
