设计说明 本课时通过与学生对喜欢的电影、书籍和乐队的讨论入手, 通过复习上节课学的定语从句的知识, 让学生运用含有定语从句的复合句来表达他们的各种喜好和喜好的缘由。然后处理教材1a, 1d内容, 并让学生就此进行小组内讨论。再通过1b, 1c部分练习同学们的听力, 并练习对话朗读和角色扮演, 同时进一步巩固定语从句的知识, 之后通过根据图片和听力材料写介绍进行语言输出, 落实到笔头。最后通过习题检测学生的学习效果。 教学目标 通过本课时的学习, 让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 复习定语从句的运用。 2. 能力目标 能够运用定语从句谈论个人喜好及喜欢的理由。 3. 情感目标 通过学习, 培养学生勇于表达自己的喜好的能力, 加强交流, 增进同学感情。 重点难点 重点: 定语从句的运用 难点: 用定语从句谈论个人喜好和缘由 教学准备 PPT课件; 1b, 1c的录音 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Ask the students some questions about their favorite movies, books and bands and why they like them. Dialogue 1: T: What kind of movies do you like? Ss: I like action/war/comedy movies. T: Why do you like it? Ss: Because it’s exciting/cool/funny… Dialogue 2: T: What kind of books do you like? Ss: I like the book… T: Why do you like it? Ss: Because it’s exciting/interesting… Dialogue 3: T: What kind of bands do you like? Ss: I like the band called … T: Why do you like it? Ss: Because it’s loud and exciting…/Because it can make me relaxed… 2. Guide the students to review relative clauses. Examples: I love music that/which I can sing along with. He prefers groups that/which play quiet and slow songs. She likes musicians who play different kinds of music. 3. Ask the students to express their preferences and reasons with relative clauses. For example: I like movies that/which…

interesting educational … Step 2 Work on 1a and 1d 1. Ask students to fill in the chart. Write names of their favorite book, movie and band. 2. Share your different answers with students. 3. Ask the students to discuss their favorite things in 1a with the members of their group. Say why they like each thing. For example: A: I like movies that are exciting. I love Titanic. B: Oh, I don’t. I like movies that are scary. I really like … A: I like books that are interesting. I love Journey to the West. B: Oh, I don’t. I like books that are educational. I really like … Step 3 Work on 1b and 1c 1. Ask the students to look at the chart and the picture first and then guess what they will hear. 2. Play the recording and ask students to listen and write the three things that Michael likes in the first column of the chart. Answers: book movie poster 3. Ask students to listen to the recording again and write why Michael likes each thing in the second column of the chart. Answers: who explain things well that are scary 4. Step 4 Learn about the tapescript 1. Ask students to read the tapescript after the recording once and then read them by themselves. Pay attention to the relative clauses. 2. Ask students to role play the dialogue. Step 5 Writing 1. Ask students to write an article to explain what Michael has and why he likes them. 2. Show some works to the students and ask some to read their works. One sample: Michael has lots of cool things. Look at the new jacket. He really likes it. He likes clothes that are unusual. He has a new book. It’s about volleyball. It tells you how to be a good player. He likes writers who explain things well. Michael has a movie poster. His brother gave it to him. Michael loves movies that are scary. Step 6 Summary Get the students to have a summary about important language items. 1.
