三、教学过程
Task 1
Step 1 Warming-up
1. Look at the pictures of the Taiwan Earthquake and talk about what happened.
2. Discuss the question: What were people doing when the earthquake happened?
【设计意图】有目的、有意义地导入,既复习了阅读部分学习的内容,同时也引导学生思考过去进行时态。
Step 2 Presentation
1. Look at the pictures and complete the sentences.
2. Read the sentences aloud and then learn the structure and the usage of the past continuous tense.
【设计意图】采用归纳教学法,让学生自己发现语法规则符合现有的心智结构,更便于记忆与运用。
Step 3 Practice
1. Circle the verbs in the past continuous tense.
2. Look at the pictures and make sentences.
2. Complete the conversation with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets.
【设计意图】在单句层面和对话层面操练语言,帮助学生内化语言,同时巩固对过去进行时的使用。
Task 2
Step 1 Presentation
Look at the pictures and learn the usage of “when”, “while, “as” and the differences among “when”, “while” and “as”.

Step 2 Practice
1. Fill in the blanks with “when”, “while” or “as”.
2. Complete the sentences with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets. Use when, while or as to connect the sentences.

3. Complete the letter with the given words and use when/while/as to connect the sentences.
