设计说明 首先,通过展示图片,并询问学生问题导入本节课;然后,学习本节新单词和短语;接下来,播放课文原文并让学生根据标准音频跟读模仿,熟悉课文内容,同时训练学生的朗读水平;再次,设置不同的阅读任务,通过阅读并回答问题,提升学生阅读理解能力并加深对课文的理解;之后,通过Listening环节训练学生的听力技能;最后,通过结对练习,训练提高学生的口语能力,同时实现知识的学以致用。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标: 掌握单词:wing,pull,able,appear,machine,space,imagine,environment 接触单词:power,spaceship 短语:be able to, thousands of,hundreds of,be good for 2.能力目标: 让学生运用所学知识介绍各种交通工具的特点。 3.情感目标: 培养学生树立保护环境的意识。 重点难点 1. 重点:掌握本课节的重点单词、短语和句型。 2. 难点:让学生运用所学知识介绍各种交通工具的特点。 教学准备 PPT课件;相关音频。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up Free talk 1.Show the students the pictures and get the students to think about the following questions: (1)How many ways can you think of to use wheels? (2)How can you get to the moon? 2. Ask the students to talk about it in pairs. 3. Choose some students to talk about their ideas. Step 2 Presentation Learn the new words. wing n. 翅膀 pull v. 拉;拖 able adj. 能;能够(用作情态动词) power v. 驱动;推动 n. 能量;力量 appear v. 出现;呈现;来到 machine n. 机器;机械 space n. 太空;空间;距离 imagine v. 想像;想到 environment n. 环境 Step 3 Reading Activity 1: 1.Play the recording of the text on page 86. 2. Ask the students to listen to the text and repeat. Activity 2: 1.Read the lesson and fill in the blanks. (Let’s Do It! No. 2) (1) This is Jeremy’s report on t_______________. (2) Cars make the U.S. a nation on w___________. (3) Now people can even travel to space in s_______________. (4)Riding a bike is good for our health and the e_______________. 2. Ask the students to fill in the blanks. 3. Check the answers in groups. 4. Check the answers together. Answers: (1) transportation (2) wheels (3) spaceships (4) environment Activity 3: 1.Read the text again and answer the questions. (1)According to Jeremy, what does everything seem to have? (2)What did horses do long ago? (3)When did the first car appear? 2. Ask the students to think about these questions. 3. Check the answers in groups. 4. Check the answers together. The answers: (1)Wheels, engines or wings. (2)They pulled carts. (3)About 200 years ago. Step 4 Listening 1. Listen to the passage and choose the correct words. (Let’s Do It! No. 1) How do we use (wheels/transportation)? Many years ago, people (invented/made) many helpful vehicles such as trains and cars. This was the (beginning/starting) of modern transportation. It’s much easier for people to (go/travel) now. But to keep (healthy/fine), we should walk or ride bicycles. 2. Check the answers in groups. 3. Check the answers together. The answers: wheels, invented, beginning, travel, healthy Step 5 Practice Read the passage and label the bicycle. Bicycle means“two wheels”. The first bicycle was probably created in Germany in 1816. It was heavy and had wooden wheels. At first, the bicycle had two wheels but no pedals. People pushed it along with their feet. In 1838, a man in the U.K. invented pedals. The modern bicycle was invented in 1876 in England. By 1900, bicycles had tyres filled with air. Air-filled tyres made bicycles more comfortable to ride. Today’s bicycles look the same as bicycles from the 1900s, but they are lighter. This is because they all have hollow frames. Answers: Step 6 Pair work 1.Work in pairs. Imagine the transportation of the future. Then make up a dialogue. Example: A: What does it look like? B: It looks like a bird. It has wings. A: How will it help people? B: … 2. Ask the students to talk about it in pairs. 3. Encourage some students to share their dialogues. Step 7 Language points 1. This is my report on transportation. 这是我的关于交通的报告。

The world is always moving. 这个世界总是运动的。 be always doing sth. “总是或一直做某事”,现在进行时与always连用,表示一个经常重复的动作或状态。常用来表达说话人的某种感情,如:赞叹、埋怨、厌烦等。 He is always working. 他总是在工作。 My mother is always saying she is busy. 我妈妈总是说她很忙。 3.Then steam was able to power boats and cars.那时蒸汽能驱动船舶和小汽车。be able to与can都表示“能”,具体区别如下: be able to强调经过努力而成功地做某事; can只是一般的能力,指“有能力做某事”。 She will be able to swim after a few days’ practice. 经过几天的练习,她能够学会游泳。 She can swim. 她会游泳。 4.Can you imagine future transportation? 你能想像未来的交通工具吗? imagine“想像”,常用结构如下: (1)imagine后接名词或代词作宾语。 Can you imagine life without water?你能想像没有水的生活吗?
