设计说明 本单元是复习单元,集中总结和练习含有if引导的条件状语从句的复合句的用法,掌握“主将从现”的基本规律;复习巩固本模块的重点单词、短语和句型。本课从指导学生朗读Language practice中的句子入手,引入语法的集中讲解与练习。除语法专项训练外,本单元还安排了词汇和听力的训练以及拓展视野的Around the world栏目,介绍了各种各样的建议专栏。在本课的末尾安排了实践性环节——为杂志设计一个问题专栏。所有这些环节的设置,旨在提升学生的语言运用能力。 教学目标 通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 (1)复习本模块新单词、短语及句型。 (2)总结巩固含有if引导的条件状语从句的复合句的用法。 2. 能力目标: (1)能够运用含有if引导的条件状语从句的复合句。 (2)能够为杂志设计一个问题专栏。 3. 情感目标: 培养关心他人、助人为乐的品质。 重点难点 重点:本模块的重点短语和句子 难点:含有if引导的条件状语从句的复合句的基本特征:主将从现 教学准备 PPT课件,活动6、7的录音 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Review 1. Ask the students to read the new words and expressions in Module 6. Use the word and expression cards to help them. 2. Get some students to read the conversation in Unit 1 in different roles. 3. Get the students to read the passage in Unit 2 on their own. Step 2 Language practice
2. Get the students to read the sentences. 3. Encourage some of them to repeat the sentences. Step 3 Grammar summary 含有if引导的条件状语从句的复合句 if引导的条件状语从句,可以放在主句之前,也可以放在主句之后。放在主句之前时用逗号隔开。 If he doesn’t work hard, he will fail the exams. 他如果不努力学习,就会考试不及格。 We can take a walk if the snow stops. 如果雪停了,我们可以去散步。 [注意] 在含if引导的条件状语从句的复合句中,如果主句是一般将来时,从句通常用一般现在时表将来。助记口诀:时间条件,主将从现。(时间:时间状语从句) [拓展] (1) if还可以引导宾语从句,意为“是否”。 I wonder if Lingling will come to your birthday party. 我想知道玲玲是否会参加你的生日聚会。 (2) unless也可以引导条件状语从句,意为“除非”,相当于if… not。 I won’t help you with it unless you tell me the truth. 我不会帮你做这件事情,除非你告诉我实情。 Step 4 Practice 1. Rewrite the sentences with if. (1) Ask the students to read the example sentence in Activity 1. If they still don’t understand how to rewrite the sentences, do Sentence 1 together. Listen in class, or you will not understand what to do. If you do not listen in class, you will not understand what to do. (2) Ask the students to rewrite the sentences. 1 Eat your breakfast, or you will get hungry at school. ________________________________________________ 2 Hurry up! You will be late. ________________________________________________ 3 Read the book carefully. Then you will not make mistakes. ________________________________________________ 4 Don’t watch too much TV, or your eyes will hurt. ________________________________________________ 5 Work harder! You will get higher marks. ________________________________________________ (3) Check the answers with the students. Answers: 1 If you don’t eat your breakfast, you will get hungry at school. / You will get hungry at school if you don’t eat your breakfast. 2 If you don’t hurry up, you will be late. / You will be late if you don’t hurry up. 3 If you read the book carefully, you will not make mistakes. /You will not make mistakes if you read the book carefully. 4 If you watch too much TV, your eyes will hurt. / Your eyes will hurt if you watch too much TV. 5 If you work harder, you will get higher marks. / You will get higher marks if you work harder. 2. Think of three problems you have in your schoolwork. Make notes about them in the Problem boxes. (1) Tell the students to think of three problems that they have with their schoolwork and write notes in the boxes.
(2) Ask them to work in pairs and talk about the problems and give advice to each other. Complete the table. Follow the example conversation. —I can’ t speak English well. —If you practise more outside the classroom, you will make progress. 3. Complete the sentences so that they are true for you. Ask the students to write down the sentences and get some of them to share their sentences. Possible answers: 1 I will be really happy if I have my own computer. 2 I will do well in English if I work hard on it. 3 My parents will be angry if I fail the exams. 4 If it rains next Saturday, I will stay at home. Step 5 Vocabulary 1. Complete the conversation with the correct form of the words and expression in the box. (1) Ask the students to read through the words and expression in the box.
(2) Tell them to read the conversation and complete it with the correct form of the words and expression. May: What’s up? You look really sad. Kate: Yes, I feel (1) __________. May: What’s wrong? Tell me about it. Maybe I can help. Kate: Well, I needed some new shoes to wear to a party. But I didn’t have enough (2)__________ to buy any. So I asked my sister if I could wear her new shoes. (1) Ask the students to read the three passages. (2) Ask the students to work in pairs. Discuss the problems and give advice. (3) Elicit some advice from the class. Step 7 Listening Listen to the conversation and answer the questions in Activity 7. 1 What is the girl’s problem? 2 Is it a common problem among teenagers? 3 What does the doctor advise the girl to do? 4 What does the doctor advise the girl not to do? (1) Play the recording for the students to listen to and write down the answers. (2) Play the recording again for them to check their answers. (3) Check the answers by asking them to answer the questions in full sentences. Answers: 1 She finds it difficult to get to sleep at night. 2 Yes, it is. 3 The doctor advises the girl to take enough exercise, eat healthy food and find ways to relax before she goes to bed. 4 The doctor advises the girl not to eat too much sugar, watch TV or play on the computer before she goes to bed. (4) Play the recording and show the tapescript at the same time. Tapescript: Doctor: How can I help you? Girl: Well, I find it very difficult to get to sleep at night. I go to bed late and I’m usually tired, but then I stay awake for hours. Doctor: I see. Don’t worry. This is a problem that a lot of teenagers have, because your minds are very active. Girl: The problem is I fall asleep very late, and in the morning when I have to get up and go to school, I’m too tired! Doctor: Yes, that’s a problem.
