Listening and speaking: Jobs and uniforms
设计说明 通过给出信息猜职业,让学生回顾上一节课所学内容。讲解一般现在时这一语法点,让学生能够学会应用这一时态。结合填句子练习,温习与职业有关的表达。借助图片呈现生词。通过填表的形式,让学生熟悉各种职业及这些职业的具体工作内容。接下来,通过对话学习以及听录音判断对应职业所穿的制服,让学生能够很好地把从事不同职业的人,其工作性质以及所穿的制服联系起来,以此来锻炼他们听取主要信息的能力。再通过结对讨论图片,增强他们的表达能力。对本课中的重要知识点进行讲解,打好语言基础。最后,设置适量当堂达标检测题目,检测他们对知识点及一般现在时的应用情况。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握本课节新词汇:ambulance, rescue, deliver, parcel; 能用一般现在时谈论习惯性的动作或状态。 2.能力目标 能够听懂有关职业的描述;能够表达不同职业的人所做的具体工作。 3.情感目标 让学生了解职业,树立正确的职业意识;让学生意识到虽然人们的职业不同,但都对社会发展做出重要贡献。 重点难点 重点:掌握本课节新词汇:ambulance, rescue, deliver, parcel; 能用一般现在时谈论习惯性的动作或状态。 难点:能够听懂有关职业的描述;能够表达不同职业的人所做的具体工作。 教学准备 PPT课件;活动Look, listen and write的录音;有关图片,如救护车、救护人员、快递员等。 授课时数 1课时
教学过程 Step 1 Revision 1. Guessing game. Give the students some information about people’s jobs.
2. Let the students guess what his/her job is. 3. The student with the most answers wins. 4. Check the answers. Answers: A. secretary B. doctor C. artist D. street cleaner 5. Give the students some time. Let them take turns to describe a job for the other classmates to guess.
Step 2 Warming up 1. Let the students do some exercises. T: In my block, there are a lot of people. They do different jobs. Look at the pictures and complete the sentences about different people. 2. Check the answers. Answers: (1) a pilot (2) an airline company (3) flies a plane (4) a dentist (5) a clinic (6) looks after people’s teeth (7) a cook (8) a restaurant (9) cooks food for people (10) a shop assistant (11) a department store (12) sells clothes to people (13) a nurse (14) a hospital (15) looks after sick people
Step 3 Grammar 1. Read and find some rules. a secretary→ helps a businessman a doctor → makes sick people better a fireman → puts out fires an SPCA officer→ takes care of animals an architect → draws plans of buildings a removal man → works for a removal company a postman→delivers letters and parcels 2. Present the rules and tell students how to use the simple present tense. A.一般现在时的用法: (1)表示习惯性、经常性的动作,常与表示频度的时间状语连用。 (2)表示主语具备的特征、性格和能力。 (3)表示主语现在的情况或状态。 (4)表示客观存在的事实或真理。 B.一般现在时的构成: 肯定句:(1)主语+be(am, is, are)+其他. (2)主语+行为动词+其他. 否定句:(1)主语+be(am, is, are)+not+其他. (2)主语+don’t/doesn’t+行为动词原形+其他. 一般疑问句:(1)Be(Am,Is, Are)+ 主语+其他? (2)Do/Does+ 主语+行为动词原形+其他? 特殊疑问句:疑问词+一般疑问句? C.行为动词第三人称单数形式的构成: 一般在动词原形后加-s work—works run—runs 以s, x, sh, ch结尾的动词加-es finish—finishes teach—teaches 以辅音字母加y结尾的动词变y为i,再加-es carry—carries fly—flies 词末为o,且o前为辅音字母,加-es go—goes do—does
Step 4 Presentation Present some pictures and let them learn the new words.

Step 5 Read and write 1. Complete the table with the correct names of jobs.

Step 6 Listen, write and say Activity 1 1. Play the recording. Let the students listen carefully. A: Who wears a uniform at work? B: An ambulance worker. A: What does an ambulance worker do? C: An ambulance worker drives sick people quickly to the hospital. 2. Select groups of three to read the dialogue.
Activity 2 1. Show the pictures to students and let them look for a while. 2. Play the recording. Let the students listen and write the job for each uniform. 3. Play the recording again. Pause for the students to write the answers. 4. Check the answers. Answers: ①a policeman/policewoman ②a fireman ③a nurse ④a doctor ⑤an SPCA officer ⑥a postman ⑦an ambulance worker Activity 3 1. Ask the students to work in pairs and talk about the pictures like this: S1: Who wears a uniform at work? S2: A/An _____. S1: What does a/an _____ do? S2: A/An… 2. Ask some pairs to talk in front of the class.
Step 7 Language points 1. Who wears a uniform at work?谁工作时穿制服? (1)辨析:wear 与put on
The little girl wears a red skirt.这个小女孩穿着一条红色的裙子。 Put on warm clothes. It’s cold outside.穿上暖和的衣服。外面很冷。 (2)at work上班 【注意】此时work前不加定冠词the。 My father isn’t at home. He is at work.我爸爸没在家。他在上班。 2. This person puts out fires and rescues people. 这个人灭火救人。 (1)put out扑灭;使熄灭 We should ask the firemen for help. They can put out the big fire. 我们应该向消防员寻求帮助。他们能够扑灭这场大火。 (2)rescue 〔动词〕营救 常指采取直接的行动而免于即刻发生的伤害,强调的是不失时机地使某人、某物免遭伤害或避免死亡。 They worked two hours to rescue the people in the building. 他们工作了两个小时来营救大楼中的人们。 【拓展】save〔动词〕拯救 指保证安全或防止危险、伤害或恶果发生的行为,强调被救的人可继续其生命。 The doctor tries his best to save the girl. 这位医生尽最大努力救这个女孩。 3.
