Parents can begin good organization (条理) habits with preschool-age kids. Experts advise asking them to do small, simple actions on a regular basis with the help of parents. Maybe they open their bags and bring their lunch bag to the kitchen, or take their shoes off at the door and put them in a nearby closet. These won't save parents much time, but they will help develop good habits.
When kids enter primary school, they should be ready for more responsibility. This is the time to teach them about daily routines, and help them take control over theirs. Parents and children might sit down together and make a list of everything that needs to be done to get out of the house in the morning, or get ready for bed at night. Together, parents should figure out how long each activity takes, and when the best time to do them is. Some kids might want to get their bags ready and pick out their clothes the night before.
It's also wise to create a strict timetable for homework. When do kids do their homework? How long do they need? Where do they do it? Where does the homework go once it is done? Figure it out before and stick to the timetable as much as possible.
Parents should print up these task lists and help kids finish them step by step. Kids might even check them off each morning or evening. Also, make sure there are clocks in the rooms in which these tasks will take place. Time management is an important part of learning organization, but it can't be done if kids don't know what time it is.
Organization gives kids the chance to make it possible to focus on a task and complete it. Kids tend to be more motivated to learn organization skills if they see organization as a challenge to overcome, rather than a fault to repair.
8. Why are kids advised to do small and simple actions?
A. To save parents' time.
B. To help kids form good habits.
C. To form a good relationship with others.
D. To join a school organization.
9. What should parents do to help kids develop organization skills?
A. Offer some suggestions only.
B. Finish the daily tasks for kids.
C. Assist kids in finishing the daily tasks.
D. Let the kids finish the daily tasks alone.
10. What does the author think of organization for kids?
A. It is a fault to repair. B. It is nothing special.
C. It is easy to achieve. D. It is a helpful skill.
11. What is the main idea of the text?
A. Assisting parents with a good parent-child relationship.
B. Parents should spend more time with kids.
C. Giving advice on developing kids' good organization habits.
D. Parents should make kids more independent.
D
Most people agree that honesty is a good thing. But does Mother Nature agree?Animals can't talk, but can they lie in other ways? Can they lie with their bodies and behavior?Animal experts may not call it lying, but they do agree that many animals, from birds to chimpanzees, behave dishonestly to fool other animals. Why?Dishonesty often helps them survive.
Many kinds of birds are very successful at fooling other animals. For example,a bird called the plover sometimes pretends to be hurt in order to protect its young. When a predator(猎食动物)gets close to its nest, the plover leads the predator away from the nest. How?It pretends to have a broken wing. The predator follows the "hurt" adult, leaving the baby birds safe in the nest.
Another kind of bird, the scrub jay, buries its food so it always has something to eat.Scrub jays are also thieves. They watch where others bury their food and steal it.But clever scrub jays seem to know when a thief is watching them.So they go back later, unbury the food, and bury it again somewhere else.
Birds called cuckoos have found a way to have babies without doing much work. How?They don't make nests.Instead, they get into other birds' nests secretly. Then they lay their eggs and fly away. When the baby birds come out, their adoptive parents feed them.
.After a fight, the losing chimp will give its hand to the other. When the winning chimp puts out its hand, too, the chimps are friendly again. But an animal expert once saw a losing chimp take the winner's hand and start fighting again.
Chimps are sneaky in other ways, too. When chimps find food that they love, such as bananas,it is natural for them to cry out. Then other chimps come running. But some clever chimps learn to cry very softly when they find food. That way, other chimps don't hear them, and they don't need to share their food.
As children, many of us learn the saying "You can't fool Mother Nature." But maybe you can't trust her, either.
12. A plover protects its young from a predator by ______ .
A. getting closer to its young
B. driving away the adult predator
C. leaving its young in another nest
D. pretending to be injured
13. By "Chimpanzees,or chimps,can also be sneaky"(paragraph5),the author means ______ .
A. chimps are ready to attack others
B. chimps are sometimes dishonest
C. chimps are jealous of the winners
D. chimps can be selfish too
14. Which of the following is true according to the passage? ______
A. Some chimps lower their cry to keep food away from others.
B. The losing chimp won the fight by taking the winner's hand.
C. Cuckoos fool their adoptive parents by making no nests.
D. Some clever scrub jays often steal their food back.
15. Which of the following might be the best title of the passage? ______
A. How do animals learn to lie?
B. Does Mother Nature fool animals?
C. Do animals lie?
D. How does honesty help animals survive?

38. I was packed and ready to go skiing for the first time.It felt like I was about to take an adventure with the world at my feet.Feeling empowered, knew something wonderful was going to come out of the trip.I was more than excited at the thought of spending an entire week with my best friend,Lindsay, hanging out and enjoying winter.
Early Monday morning my youth group boarded our bus for the ski trip.Once at the destination,we saw the skiers floating so easily and gracefully down the slopes.By the time I got my skis and boots,I was confident I'd be a fantastic skier.During the lessons,I mastered the art of skiing within 30 minutes. After spending most of the time practising again and again on the run for beginners,we were able to fly down the hill by the end of the day.In the evening,we all felt extremely tired.Complaining about the pain our ski boots had caused,Lindsay and I decided we weren't skiing the next day.Well,of course, our friends wouldn't hear of that.
So,the next morning we found ourselves in line for the ski lift, which wound its way up the high mountain.Lindsay and I stared helplessly at each other, our eyes showing nothing but fear. After I got into the lift,I sat totally still on the chair with my eyes closely shut, not daring to look outside. The lift rose so fast that before I knew it,I had floated up the mountain. When I finally opened my eyes,I found myself at the top in one piece.Thank goodness I was still alive!
Standing at the top of the long slope, with the skis pointing downward,I realized I was shaking.I glanced at Lindsay and found that she was scared too,for her poles kept tapping rapidly against the sides of her boots.
Taking a deep breath and gathering all our courage,we gave each other an encouraging nod and both took off.At first I barely moved, but slowly I allowed myself to gain some speed.Soon I was shooting down the mountain with my heart beating wildly.

When kids enter primary school, they should be ready for more responsibility. This is the time to teach them about daily routines, and help them take control over theirs.(当孩子们上小学时,他们应该准备好承担更多的责任。
Organization gives kids the chance to make it possible... rather than a fault to repair.(条理让孩子们有机会专注于一项任务并完成它。
Parents can begin good organization (条理) habits with preschool-age kids.
12~15.【答案】D、B、A、C
根据第二段的第二句话a bird called the plover sometimes pretends to be hurt in order to protect its young.(一种名为啄木鸟的鸟有时为了保护幼鸟而假装受伤。)
But an animal expert once saw a losing chimp take the winner's hand and start fighting again.(但是一位动物专家曾经看到一只输了的黑猩猩抓住胜利者的手,又开始战斗。)
(3)A. But some clever chimps learn to cry very softly when they find food. That way, other chimps don't hear them, and they don't need to share their food.(但是一些聪明的黑猩猩在找到食物时会学会叫得很轻。

16~20.【答案】B、E、F、C、A
Schools consume a large amount of energy, which has a bad effect on the environment (学校消耗大量的能源,这对环境有不良影响),以及后半句there are lots of ways that you can help your school save energy (有很多方法可以帮助你的学校节约能源),根据句子的结构判断,此处是一个从句,七个选项中只有B、C和G三个选项符合要求。 Whether you are a teacher or a student.
Even something as simple as turning off the lights when you leave a room can help to save energy.Turn off the lights in classrooms that are not being used and in other areas, such as empty bathrooms and unoccupied multipurpose rooms Shut down the lights when rooms are not in use. 符合本段的主旨,本段中的一些提示词,如"turning off the lights""Turn off the lights" 等也暗示了本题的答案。

Set up a recycling station at your school (在你的学校建立一个回收站),以及后半句then ask your school principal if you can set one up (然后问问你的校长你能不能设立一个),可知本段谈论在学校内设置回收站回收可循环使用的材料。 If your school does not have one.
(5)A. Either as an individual or as a team, you can create and put up signs around your school (无论是作为个人还是作为一个团队,你都可以在你的学校周围创建和张贴标语),可知A选项:Post signs about conserving energy. 符合前后的语境,"put up signs""using signs""some signs" 是提示词,故选A。
