Some rules have been put forward in the regulations. Real- name registration(注册) for online games is a practical requirement. B
When I was a child of seven years old, my friends, on a holiday, filled my pocket with coppers. I went at once to a shop where they sold toys for children. Being charmed with the sound of a whistle that I had seen by the way, in the hands of another boy, I handed over all my money for one. I then came home and went whistling all over the house, much pleased with my whistle, but disturbing all my family. My brother and sister, and cousins, when I told of the bargain I had made, said I had given four times as much as the whistle was worth. They put me in mind of what good things I might have bought with the rest of the money, and laughed at me. Thinking about the matter gave me more shame than the whistle gave me pleasure.
This, however, was afterwards of use to me, for the impression continued on my mind, so that often when I was tempted (诱惑) to buy something I don’t need, I said to myself, “Don’t give too much for the whistle,” and I saved my money. As I grew up, came into the world and observed the actions of men, I thought I met with many, very many, who “gave too much for the whistle.” When I saw some man too eager for court favor (宫廷的恩宠), wasting his time at court gatherings, giving up his rest, his liberty, his virtue, and perhaps his friends, for royal favor, I said to myself “This man gives too much for the whistle.” When I saw another kind of popularity, constantly taking part in political affairs, neglecting(疏忽) his own business, “He pays, indeed,” said I, “too dear for his whistle.”
If I knew a miser (守财奴) who gave up every kind of comfortable living, and the joys of friendship for the sake of gathering and keeping wealth—“Poor man.” said I, “you pay too dear for your whistle.” When I met a man of pleasure who devoted himself to having a good time, perhaps neglecting his health, “Mistaken man,” said I, “you are providing pain for yourself, instead of pleasure; you are paying too dear for your whistle.” If I saw someone fond of appearance of who had fine clothes, fine houses, fine furniture, fine earrings, all above his fortune, and for which he had run into debt, and ends his career in a prison. “Alas,” said I, “he has paid dear, very dear, for his whistle.”
In short, the miseries of mankind are largely due to their putting a false value on things—to giving “too much for their whistles”.
4. What does the whistle stand for in the passage?
A. A thing that is not worth wishing for.
B. A warning that we needn’t neglect.
C. A symbol of wealth and fame.
D. A toy that pleased the writer.
5. What kind of lesson did the writer learn from buying the whistle?
A. Think twice before you leap.
B. Don’t buy things that you don’t need.
C. Never let the loss outweigh the gain.
D. Working hard is the only way to success.
6. What kind of person does the writer criticize in the second paragraph?
A. A whistle. B. A playboy.
C. A politician. D. A businessman.
7. Who was the “Poor man” in the writer’s eyes?
A. A man who pursues pleasure even at the cost of his health.
B. A man who worships wealth more than everything else.
C. A man who gets into debt to buy beautiful things.
D. A man who wastes his time for useless things.
A 5. C 6. C 7. B

A short cooking video posted by a netizen on TikTok has recently become a popular hit on the site. Bearing the tag “Chinese food”, the video not only showed off the chief’s superb skills in making Chinese dishes, but it also got netizens abroad wanting to get a taste of China’s unique food culture.
Although the video was nothing master-level, just a rather standard homemade fried potato dish, it received more than 200, 000 likes after only three days of posting. In addition to praising the chef, commenters wondered why such a simple Chinese dish could look like a fancy cuisine that had been made through tons of effort. “Even the most basic Chinese dish needs to have three elements: color, smell and taste. For example, color not only requires a chef to have sharp eyes, but also valuable experience,” said Wang, an experienced Chinese chef in Guangzhou.
Chinese cooking is not the only type of content covered by the tag. Other popular videos under the tag include “odd food” challenges, traditional Chinese dishes and Chinese snack tasting, the latter of which has become particularly popular among young omnivore vloggers (video bloggers) living in a world of continually expanding cultural globalization.
“I have been a fan of Chinese food ever since my Chinese friend cooked me di san xian at university. I was surprised by the dish’s taste and its look, which was very different from my home food, but felt it was very familiar to me because I noticed we share similar cooking skills,” said Bianca, an Italian Asian food fan.
“I started my channel by recording my roommate tasting my cooking. These videos got likes and comments gradually. Seeing some people commenting in German or English and saying ‘I want to try it’, I felt these videos can narrow the gap between the two cultures,” said Mr. Bear, a vlogger on Bilibili who promotes Chinese cooking.
8. What does the underlined word “omnivore” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. people eating meat. B. people eating diverse food.
C. people eating strange food. D. people eating vegetables.
9. How does Bianca find Chinese food?
A. common and dear. B. expensive and delicious.
C. similar and disconnected. D. special and familiar.
10. What do we know about Mr. Bear from the last paragraph?
A. He is an expert determined to become a Chinese chef.
B. The majority of his fans tasted the food he cooked.
C. His videos make a difference to cultural communication.
D. His roommate encouraged him to cook Chinese food.
11. The passage mainly tells us that_________.
A. Chinese cooking has become popular among young vloggers.
B. advanced technology plays a great part in modern society.
C. online videos can make young people internationally famous.
D. master-level Chinese dishes are attracting more foreign fans.
B 9. D 10. C 11. A

根据画线词上文“Other popular videos under the tag include “odd food” challenges, traditional Chinese dishes and Chinese snack tasting, the latter of which has become particularly popular among young(在标签下面其他受欢迎的视频包括“奇餐”挑战、中国传统菜肴和中国小吃品尝,后者在年轻的_____视频博主中特别流行)”可知,喜欢“奇餐”挑战、中国传统菜肴和中国小吃的年轻人应该是喜欢吃不同种类食物的人,他们喜欢尝试不同种类的食物,“People eating diverse food”意为“吃不同食物的人”,能够解释画线单词的意思。
根据倒数第二段中“I was surprised by the dish’s taste and its look, which was very different from my home food, but felt it was very familiar to me because I noticed we share similar cooking skills,” said Bianca, an Italian Asian food fan.(意大利亚洲美食迷Bianca说:“我对这道菜的味道和外观感到惊讶,这道菜与我家的菜大不相同,但我觉得这道菜很熟悉,因为我注意到我们有着相似的烹饪技巧。”)”
根据最后一段中““Seeing some people commenting in German or English and saying ‘I want to try it’, I felt these videos can narrow the gap between the two cultures,” said Mr. Bear, a vlogger on Bilibili who promotes Chinese cooking.(“看到一些人用德语或英语评论说‘我想试试’,我觉得这些视频可以缩小两种文化之间的差距,”推广中国烹饪的哔哩哔哩博主Mr. Bear说)”可知,Mr. Bear的视频让外国人了解了中国美食,推广了中国烹饪,缩小了文化之间的差距,由此可知,从最后一段我们了解到Mr. Bear的视频对文化交流产生了影响。故选C项。
【11题详解】
主旨大意题。通读文章,结合第三段关键句“Other popular videos under the tag include “odd food” challenges, traditional Chinese dishes and Chinese snack tasting, the latter of which has become particularly popular among young omnivore vloggers (video bloggers) living in a world of continually expanding cultural globalization.(其他受欢迎的视频还包括“奇餐”挑战、中国传统菜肴和中国小吃品尝,后者在生活在文化全球化不断扩大的世界中的年轻的喜欢尝试不同食物的博主中尤其流行)”可知,本文通过制作中国菜的视频在网络上受到欢迎的例子告诉我们,中国烹饪在年轻的博主中很受欢迎。故选A项。

As workers return to the office, friends meet up and religious services move from online to in person, people are asking the question: to shake hands or not to shake hands? When the coronavirus (新冠病毒) crisis first began, an event planning business in Kansas City began selling “I Shake Hands” stickers. ____12____ Those who did not want to shake hands with others could simply choose not to wear a sticker.
____13____ A widely held belief is that it started as a way to show that a person was offering peace and not holding a hidden weapon. But hands have germs. Dr. Anthony Fauci, America's leading disease expert, warned that we shouldn't shake hands again. While Dr. Amesh Adalja, another expert, does not agree. ____14____ The answer, he says, is simple. If you are worried about COVID, the best way to make handshakes safe is to be fully vaccinated (打疫苗). And for any other things that might be on people's hands, just wash your hands before you touch your face.
Diane Gottsman is a national etiquette (礼仪) expert. She said though the country is entering a time similar to the start of the pandemic, when people wanted to know if others were socially distancing before getting close to them, she does not think the handshake will go away because of the pandemic. ____15____But she said people should take things slowly. Don't be the first to extend your hand. You can watch the other person and allow them to extend their greeting of choice.
At the beginning of the pandemic, some companies offered to create new workplace rules, such as a no-handshake policy. But there was not enough interest for people. ____16____
A. You'd better avoid shaking hands.

空格前说“When the coronavirus (新冠病毒) crisis first began, an event planning business in Kansas City began selling “I Shake Hands” stickers.(当冠状病毒危机刚开始时,堪萨斯城的一家活动策划公司开始销售“我握手”贴纸。)” The words were meant to make social situations easier.(这些词是为了让社交场合更容易些。)
Anthony Fauci, America's leading disease expert, warned that we shouldn't shake hands again.(美国首席疾病专家安东尼·福奇博士警告说,我们不应该再握手。)” The handshake has been around for centuries.(握手已经存在了几个世纪。)中的has been around for centuries(已经存在了几个世纪)和空格后的“it started as a way to show that a person was offering peace and not holding a hidden weapon”相互呼应,引出下文,因此B选项符合语境,故选B。
空格前说“While Dr. Amesh Adalja, another expert, does not agree.(而另一位专家阿梅什·阿达尔贾(Amesh Adalja)不同意这种说法。)” He thinks people are overthinking the question of whether to shake hands or not.(他认为人们对是否握手的问题想得太多了。)
空格前说“She said though the country is entering a time similar to the start of the pandemic, when people wanted to know if others were socially distancing before getting close to them, she does not think the handshake will go away because of the pandemic.(她说,虽然这个国家正在进入一个类似于大流行开始的时期,当人们想要知道其他人是否在接近他们之前保持社交距离,她不认为握手会因为大流行而消失。)” It's a really hard greeting to deny as it has been deep-rooted since we were young.(这是一种很难否认的问候,因为它从我们小的时候就根深蒂固了。)
空格前说“But there was not enough interest for people.(但是人们对此没有足够的兴趣。)” Anyway, people long for human interaction and human touch.(无论如何,人们渴望人与人之间的互动和接触。)

I always wonder how people will react if I want a total stranger for help in a busy place like a street corner or in a crowded station. I personally have always hurried past a stranger who tried to catch my attention in a busy place or when I am rushing around.
Yesterday I was stuck in such a hopeless situation where my only hope of help would have to come from a total stranger.
I was in a busy shopping mall (中心) buying a large piece of luggage. After the purchase in one of the large, fancy, expensive shops, I picked up my phone from my pocket to call my driver waiting in the parking lot and my phone was dead.
I then requested the shop assistant who had just sold me the luggage, which was not cheap at all, if she could help me telephone my driver. She replied, still all smiles, “I’m sorry, Sir, but it is the shop policy that we cannot use mobile phones while working in the shop.”
As I was wondering what kind of policy that was, I saw a nice-looking teenage boy coming toward me. Remembering my wife’s interesting theory (理论) that beautiful people are more likely to give you a hand when you’re in trouble, I thought I might have a chance. But before I could say a word, he walked past me. It turned out he simply didn’t see me.
I waited a bit longer in the mall but it seemed nobody bothered to look at me. Disappointed and tired, I got out of the shop on to the busy street in front. I stood there with people rushing by, looking at their faces to see if there was a sign of kindness on their face. I began wondering how many times I had reacted to strangers like the shop girl and the teenager.
Paragraph 1:

Paragraph 2:
Finally a man wearing a cheap T-shirt and dirty jeans seemed to notice me.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 1:
At that point I saw a young mother with her two kids. I thought that a beautiful woman with charming blue eyes must be willing to help me. So, with great expectation, I walked towards her with an appropriate smile on my face, and requested if she could be kind enough to make a phone call for me. However, without a word, she pulled her kids to escape from me, as if scared by a murderer. I stood there, hopeless, with a blank face and a sinking heart.
Paragraph 2:
Finally a man wearing a cheap T-shirt and dirty jeans seemed to notice me. I squeezed a smile and requested him the same thing. Unexpectedly, he took out his mobile phone for me without hesitation. Dancing in his eyes was the real kindness that I had been struggling to look for so long. From that day on, I began helping other strangers in trouble, just like the poor-looking but kind man, with the aim of passing kindness and melting the ice in many people’s hearts.
