    动词-ing形式包括传统语法中的动名词和现在分词。动词-ing形式具有动词的特征,同时又具有名词、形容词和副词的特征。动词-ing形式不能单独作谓语,但可以充当其他成分。动词-ing形式在时间上表示动作正在进行,在语态上表示主动。
    1) 动词-ing形式作主语① 直接置于句首,常表示事物化、抽象化概念。 eg Learning new wrds is very imprtant fr me. Talking is easier than ding.
    动词-ing形式的功能
    ② 用形式主语it,把真正的主语-ing形式移置句尾。但这种句子形式有一定的限制,作表语的只能是某些形容词或少数名词。 eg It is useless trying t argue with Shylck. It’s wrth making the effrt. It is pleasant wrking with yu.
    常用-ing形式作主语的句型有:It +be +a waste f time ding… 做……是浪费时间的It is/was n gd/use ding… 做……是没益/用处的It is/was wrth/wrthwhile ding … 做……是值得的There is/was n pint ding… 干……无意义
    2)动词-ing形式作宾语,表示动作的对象,或代替it作真正的宾语。
    常跟动词-ing形式作宾语的动词:
    admit, dislike, appreciate, avid, bear, cnsider, deny, enjy, escape, finish, imagine, mind, miss, practice, resist, risk, stand, suggest etc.
    有些动词既可以跟动词-ing形式,又可以跟不定式做宾语,但意义有所区别。这类动词有:remember, frget, regret, stp, try, mean, need, want, require既可以用动词-ing形式也可用不定式作宾语,但用法不同。
    3) 动词-ing形式作定语,说明被修饰词的性质、特征、用途或所修饰的人/事物的动作、状态
    4) 动词-ing形式作表语,说明主语的性质、状态或内容。 eg Our jb is playing all kinds f music. = Playing all kinds f music is ur jb. The music they are playing sunds s exciting.
    动词-ing形式表名词的特性,主语和表语可以互换。
    动词-ing形式有形容词的特性,表示主语的性质和特征,主语和表语不可互换。
    常跟宾语补足语的谓语动词有 see, watch, hear, set, keep, find, have, get 等词。
    eg I saw him walking in the street. I heard them singing in the classrm. We fund the by sleeping.
    5) 动词-ing形式作宾语补足语,补充说明宾语正在进行的感官动作、心理状态或使役动作等。
    6) 动词-ing形式作状语 动词-ing形式作状语时,可以表示时间、原因、结果、条件、让步、方式、伴随情况等,其前可加连词while, when, nce, if, unless等。 eg Crssing the street, he was kncked dwn by a car. He fell ff the bike, breaking his left leg. A grup f children were sitting arund the teacher, playing games.Seeing thse pictures, he remembered his childhd.
