Teaching procedures

Step 1  Warming up & Revision

1.         Greet the class.

2. Let’s do.

3. Recite the dialogue in let’s talk together.

4. Sing the song At the zoo.

Step 2  Presentation & Practice

1. Play a sharp eyes game to say out the adjectives as quickly as possible according to the PPT. (Review the words thin, fat, tall, short.)

2. Fill in the blanks according to the pictures of the animals and people. Look at ... It’s / He’s/She’s so ...

3. Compare and describe.

  Look at … He’s / She’s tall/ thin/ fat/ short.

4. Revise the sound of the letter/æ/and /e/. Then Show them the letter Ii. Review the sound of the letter Ii /ai/. Then present some words about the sound of letter Ii / i/. Ask the Ss to read and say the difference between the letter Ii /ai/ & / i/. Then practice it by clapping hands, listening and saying, Listening and writing.

5. Let’s spell.

A. Listen, repeat and chant. Listen to the tape and ask some

of the Ss to repeat it one by one. Then follow the tape to chant.

B. Read, listen and circle. Ask the Ss to read out the words

on P26. Then listen to the tape and circle the words what they heard.

C. Listen and write. According to the listening material, write

the words one by one. At the same time, check some individuals.

Step 3  Consolidation & Extension

1. Present the key knowledge of this part and explain them again.

2. Have Ss say more words with the letters and sounds.

3. Do exercises.

 B. Read and judge.

Step 4  Summary & Homework

1. Try to remember the words in 3 minutes.

2. Do homework.
