Step 1  Warming—up

Lead-in 

1、Organize the Ss to have a chat.

2、Free talk about “What can you do?”/“Can you do sth？”

2、Ask and answer：I can play basketball. Can you play basketball？

Yes，I can. /No, I can’t.

通过这个环节既能活跃课堂气氛，又能为以下教学内容作好铺垫

Step 2  Pre-task

1、New words learning：Show some pictures and get the Ss say like this：I can……

2、Have the Ss to match the words and expressions from the box with the pictures in Activity 1.

3、Organize the Ss to ask and answer in pairs.

A:Can you…？             A：Can he/she…？

B：Yes，I can./No,  can’t     B：Yes，he/she can./No, he/she can’t.

1、Look at the pictures and say like this：I can(can’t) cook, play tennis, ride a bike…

2、Match the words and expressions from the box with the pictures in Activity 1.

3、Ask and answer in pairs according to the pictures

A：Can you…？

B：.Yes，I can./No,  can’t

A：Can he/she…？

B：Yes，he/she can./No, he/she can’t.

引导学生直观谈论图片，训练学生的口头表达能力，在描述图片的同时学习新单词和新句型。

Step 3  While-task

1、Listening

（1）       Play the tape and have the Ss check the things in Activity 2 which Tony’s dad can do.

（2）       Have the Ss listen to the dialogue and then check the clubs they would like to join.

（3）       Play the tape once again and let the Ss answer 2questions.

Q1：Why would Daming like to join the Music Club？

Q2：Which club would Tony like to join at last?

2、Organize the Ss to read the conversation.

(1) Read it out in different roles.

(2) Let Ss find out some phrases and the difficult points.

(3) Solve the difficult points.

(4) Ask 2 groups to act out the dialogue.

1、Listening

（1）Listen to the tape and check the things in Activity 2 which Tony’s dad can do.

（2）Listen to the dialogue and then check the clubs they would like to join in Activity 3.

（3） Listen to the tape once again and answer 2questions.

Q2：Which club would Tony like to join at last?

利用听读相结合的方式，培养学生的听力技巧，尤其是细节信息的听力技巧。通过设置任务环，让学生能在小组活动中自主愉快地学习并充分实践运用语言。

Step 4  Post-task

1. Get the Ss to retell the conversation with the information in the form in Activity 3.

2、Let the Ss work in pairs，look at the information in Actinity7，ask and answer.

3、Have the Ss retell the conversation and then fill in the blanks in Activity4.

4、Have the Ss discuss in groups of 4 and then make a report like this：

I’d like to join …,because I can …I don’t like…,because I can’t…

1. Try to retell the conversation with the information in the form in Activity 3.

e.g. Daming would like to join the Music Club because he can play the piano. Betty can cook and she likes it, so she would like to join the Food and Drink Club. Etc.

2、Look at the information in Actinity7，ask and answer in pairs.

3、Retell the conversation and then fill in the blanks in Activity4.

4、Discuss in groups of 4 and then make a report like this：

I’d like to join …,because I can …I don’t like…,because I can’t…

利用信息表引导学生复述对话，有利于学生记住重点句型，培养学生的表达能力。

通过口语表达再次训练学生说的能力，加深对课文内容的理解，巩固语言知识点。
