教师可携带一些易于演奏的乐器,也可带一些演奏乐器的图片,一边演示乐器,一边说: I can play the guitar.…等与学生展开自由谈话,让学生询问各自的爱好,引出情态动词can。采用学生间相互提出问题、解决问题,借助实物来提高学生的主动性。

Step 2 Lead in
Ask questins abut what students can d.
(1) Hell,everyne. D yu like Jay Chu?He’s a very famus singer. He can sing,dance and he can als play the guitar. Write ne sentence n the blackbard. Underline the wrd “can”. Here are sme clubs in ur schl,such as the art club, the music club, the swimming club, the sprts club and s n . Can yu tell me what club d yu want t jin?
(2) Ask: Can yu sing?Can yu dance?Can yu play the guitar?Please tell us yur talents. Chse ne student wh raises his hand."Yes, I can.". Repeat this sentence and write the sentence n the blackbard. Chse anther student wh raises his hand."I want t jin the music club." Repeat this sentence and write the sentence n the blackbard. Underline the wrds “want t ”.
(3) Pint t the wrds “cant” and “want t” n the blackbard. Say that we use these wrds t talk abut abilities.

Ask the Ss t practice the cnversatins in 1b with a partner. Then make their wn cnversatins
Step 6 Listening

(Play the recrding fr the first time, students nly listen carefully.)
Then, listen t the recrding again, and circle the clubs yu hear.
Check the answers with the class.

Play the recrding again and ask Ss t finish the task.
