教师可携带一些易于演奏的乐器，也可带一些演奏乐器的图片，一边演示乐器，一边说: I can play the guitar．…等与学生展开自由谈话，让学生询问各自的爱好，引出情态动词can。采用学生间相互提出问题、解决问题，借助实物来提高学生的主动性。

该部分内容贴近学生的生活，谈论的话题是能力。通过互相询问或谈论自己或对方在某一方面的能力，可以培养学生的群体意识。

Step 2 Lead in

Here are sme clubs in ur schl，such as the art club, the music club, the swimming club, the sprts club and s n . Can yu tell me what club d yu want t jin？
(2) Ask: Can yu sing？Can yu dance？Can yu play the guitar？Please tell us yur talents. Chse ne student wh raises his hand."Yes, I can.". Repeat this sentence and write the sentence n the blackbard. Chse anther student wh raises his hand."I want t jin the music club." Repeat this sentence and write the sentence n the blackbard. Underline the wrds “want t ”.
(3) Pint t the wrds “cant” and “want t” n the blackbard. Say that we use these wrds t talk abut abilities.
