【教学重点】
1.掌握词汇:Italy, age, gds, Eurpe, Asia, jurney, king, cal, discver, invent, ther, hpe, at the age f, be new t.
2.能运用一般过去时熟练介绍名人的生平和重要成就。
【教学难点】
1.熟练、正确地将动词原形转化为动词的一般过去时。
2.掌握动词的不规则变化。
教学步骤
Step 1 Revisin (abut 5 min)
1. Quick respnse: Teacher speaks Chinese meanings, and the students say ut the English wrds and expressins they learnt in last lessn.
2. Translatin: Translate the imprtant sentence patterns ne by ne.
3. Give students 1 minute t review the cnversatins they made yesterday, then invite sme pairs t shw their cnversatins.
Step 2 Presentatin (abut 20 min)
1. Divide students int 9 grups as usual, and six students fr each. Teach the new wrds f this lessn.
2. Teacher shws Marc Pl’s picture and makes students say smething abut him (Encurage them t try t use English as much as pssible). Then, listen t the tape, and fill in the blanks.
3. Let students read and analyze the passage abut Marc Pl and the Silk Rad in grups. Translate the passage and try t answer the fllwing questins:
(1). What cuntry did Marc Pl cme frm?
(2). Hw did he and his brther travel?
(3). When did he travel t Peking?
(4). Hw lng did his jurney last?
(5). What did he bring back t his hme cuntry?
4. Ask sme students t answer the questins.
5. Let ne f grups translate the passage tgether.
6. Make students analyze every imprtant pints f the passage, especially the Irregular Verbs. Teachers add mre details.
7. Grup Cntest: Let a grup sums up the usage f Simple Past Tense. Then, pick up tw grups t write the Irregular Verbs n the blackbard as much as they can. Award the first place, and make thers read these wrds after them.
Step 3 Practice (abut 8 min)
1. Teacher gives students a similar Chinese passage which is abut a famus persn, and let students translate in grups.
2. Let students translate the passage sentence by sentence and then say it ut after translatin.
Step 4 Prductin (abut 5 min)
Let thers shw pictures and intrduce a famus persn like that. They must use Simple Past Tense.
Step 5 Summary (abut 2 min)
1. Let sme students sum up what they have learnt tday.
They are expected t sum up the key wrds, phrases and sentence patterns. And they shuld sum up hw t make a reprt.
Hmewrk
Write dwn their prepared intrductin and finish the exercises after the passage.
