If yu are lder than 50, yu may remember when students had enugh time at lunch t g hme and eat with their mthers. These days, Mther is mst likely at wrk, and lunch is a schl activity.
I remember my first day at Greenwich Cuntry Day Schl after seven years in a public elementary schl. The biggest difference between the tw schls was lunch. Lunch was part f the instructin and treated as part f the schl’s task, which is t “enable all children in ur care t discver and t develp what is finest in themselves—t achieve the highest standards in their studies, in their play, and in their character.”

Lunch is part f the curriculum (课程), but it is s relaxing that kids dn’t realize they are learning smething f value.
It is generally accepted that American families d nt eat tgether as much as they used t. Fr this reasn, it is mre imprtant than ever that schl lunches becme a time fr civilized cnversatin and behavir. With a few changes, schl lunch can be an imprtant part f the curriculum and part f a way f teaching yung peple the best values.
