      We all knw that a late-night cffee is a bad idea if yu want a gd night’s sleep. But culd yur whle day’s diet als affect hw well yu rest?
      Well, a new study frm the University f Tsukuba in Japan has fund that what we eat may affect hw we sleep. Different nutrients (营养物质), such as prteins, carbhydrates, fats and fiber (纤维), might affect ur sleep, suggesting that changing ur diet culd be a way t sleep better.
      The study lked at the diets and sleep patterns f almst 5,000 peple. The data was cllected by asking peple t use tw apps—Asken, where users recrd what they ate during the day, and Pkemn Sleep, which recrds sleep habits.
      The researchers lked at the peple’s sleep time, hw lng it tk t fall asleep, and hw ften they wke up at night. Then, they cmpared this infrmatin with what peple were eating.
      The study fund that peple wh ate mre prtein (蛋白质) slept abut 10 minutes lnger than thse wh ate less. On the ther hand, peple wh ate mre fats slept fr a shrter time and wke up mre ften at night.
      Thse with a diet high in carbhydrates (碳水化合物) were less likely t wake up during the night, while peple having mre fiber fell asleep faster and slept lnger. And a diet high in sdium—frm salty fds—and lw in ptassium—fund in fruits and vegetables—was linked (联系) with prer sleep.
      Of curse, the study isn’t perfect. It desn’t shw that diet directly causes these changes. And sme ther things, such as hw much sft drinks peple drink r their stress levels, weren’t included. But it des suggest that what we eat culd play an imprtant rle in sleep health.
