      Chpin: A Great Inspiratin
      When the great cmpser Rbert Schumann first heard a wrk which was written by yung Chpin, he said, “ Hats ff , gentlemen! A genius! ”Frédéric Chpin (1810-1849) is cnsidered ne f the greatest musicians in histry. During his shrt lifetime, he was celebrated as ne f the wrld’s greatest pianists, even thugh he nly gave arund 30 cncerts. He was als a gifted cmpser wh left behind mre than 200 musical wrks.
      Chpin was brn in a village in Pland. He didn’t attend music schl until he was 16, but sn utdid his teachers. His parents sent him t Vienna in 1829 t widen his musical experience. By 1832, he had made his way t Paris, the city that he wuld call hme fr the rest f his life.Chpin was nt nly a great pianist, but als a respected pian teacher. He ften tld his students, “ Put all yur sul int it! Play the way yu feel! ” This is advice that is still fllwed by musicians tday.
      Plish flk music was a kind f music that sme peple lked dwn n at the time—it was seen as t simple and cmmn. But it became an imprtant characteristic f Chpin’s music. His use f Plish flk music caused peple t see it as a valuable art frm.His music als helped build a natin which was divided up by ther cuntries. By using Plish flk music, Chpin seemed t be saying t the wrld, “ We are ur wn cuntry with ur wn culture! We are ur wn peple!” Chpin’ smusic encuraged his peple and helped them keep ging thrugh
      years f difficulty. Tday, the Plish peple prudly think f Pland as the cuntry f Chpin.When Chpin died frm ill health at 39, thusands f peple travelled frm faraway cuntries t attend his funeral.
