      M: This is a true stry abut a French cuple, Paul and Mary, wh were in Hng Kng n hliday and went t a restaurant fr a meal.
      W: They had a meal in their htel?
      M: N, what they did was g t a restaurant. Anyway, they culdn’t speak Chinese r English well, s they had t use sign language t rder their meal. Well, this seemed t wrk all right. The waiter ndded and smiled and started t g t the kitchen.
      W: He understd them.
      M: Oh, I frgt t mentin they had their pet dg, Rsa, with them and Mary reminded her husband that Rsa was hungry. They called the waiter back and they
      pinted at the dg, Rsa, and made eating gestures. The waiter didn’t seem t understand and lked puzzled. But in the end he smiled and ndded and picked up the dg and tk it int the kitchen. Paul and Mary were satisfied and chatted abut their hliday experiences until their fd was ready. After abut an hur the waiter returned with their main curse n a silver dish cvered with a large silver lid. Yu’ll never believe this, but it really happened. When they lifted the silver lid they fund their dg inside.

      M: N, f curse nt. What happened was that they bth suffered a mild nervus breakdwn and tk the next plane back t Paris.
