One wuld have t be a fl t verlk the imprtance f using psitive thinking fr yu rather than snwing negative thinking t wrk against yu. In recent years, research in psychpharmaclgy(精神药理学) has prved what many peple have knwn ver the centuries: a psitive attitude is gd fr yu, gd fr yur health, gd fr yur wealth, gd fr everything.

Fr example, if yu frce yurself t smile r laugh, even when yu "dn't feel like smiling r laughing, if yu keep at it fr a few minutes, yu will sn feel like it. Feelings can make thughts alive, and thughts can d it, t. Cntrl yur thughts and yu can cntrl yur feelings. Psitive thinking is imprtant in all aspects f ur lives. There is prbably n single factr mre imprtant in determining yur success in achieving yur career purpses than yur wn attitude.
It's ften been said that in the land f the blind, the ne-eyed man is king. And in the ffice f militant(好战的) negativism, the psitive wrkers shine like gld. Yu cannt cntrl external events, but yu can learn t cntrl yur reactin t thse events and thereby have a psitive attitude and be happy. This imprtant key t success is ttally within yur cntrl. Use it.

As in the field f space travel, s in the undersea explratin (探险) new technlgies cntinue t appear. They share a number f similarities with each ther----as well as sme imprtant differences.
Manned submersibles (潜水器) like spaceships, must maintain living cnditins in an unnatural envirnment. But while a spaceship must simply be sealed (密封)against the vacuum (真空) f space, a submersible must be able t bear extreme pressure if it is nt t break up in deep water.
In explring space, unmanned vehicles were emplyed befre astrnauts. In the undersea explratin, n the ther hand, men paved the way, and nly recently have unmanned remte perated vehicles (ROVs) been put t use.
One reasn fr this is that cmmunicating with vehicles in rbit is much easier than talking t thse underwater. A vacuum is an ideal medium fr radi cmmunicatins, but underwater cmmunicatins are limited t much slwer sund waves. Thus, mst undersea vehicles, particularly ROVs ,perate at the end f lng rpes.
Fr a similar reasn, knwing where yu are undersea is much mre difficult than in space. A spaceship's psitin can be lcated by fllwing its radi signal, r by using telescpes and radars. Fr an undersea vehicle, hwever, a special netwrk f snar (声纳) devices must be laid ut in advance n the cean flr in the area f a dive t lcate the vehicle's psitin.
Thugh undersea explratin is mrt challenging than uter space in a number f respects, it has a distinct advantage: Ging t the cean depths desn't require the pwer necessary t escape Earth's gravity. Thus, it remains far less expensive.
      68. Which f the fllwing is NOT mentined in the passage?
      A. New techniques are cntinually develped and new machines invented fr undersea explratin.
      B. If nt well built, a submersible is mst likely t get crushed in deep water.
      C. A submersible, when manned, lks very much like a spaceship.
      D. In certain respects, undersea explratin is ften faced with the same prblems as space travel is.
      69. The snar devices must be placed __.
      A. frm time t time
      B. after the undersea vehicle dives
      C. at the time when the undersea vehicle is diving
      D. befre the undersea vehicle dives
      70. Ocean explratin is nt s expensive as space travel mainly because __.
      A. it is nt affected by Earth's gravity
      B. mst undersea vehicles perate at the end f lng rpes
      C. ROVs have been put t use
      D. there is n need fr submersibles t get away frm Earth's gravity
      71. We can knw the psitin f the spaceship by __.
      A. laying ut the snar devices in advance
      B. fllwing its radi signal
      C. fllwing its rbit
      D. detecting its heat sent ut

The US is nw restricted by a 1996 directive signed by President Bill Clintn. Plans fr space weapns were veted by the Clintn cabinet. The directive emphasized the peaceful use f space, in agreement with almst unanimus(一致的) glbal pinin.
The US military has placed imprtance n space and has sent up numerus satellites fr trp cmmunicatins and t prvide intelligence and data t guide bmbs t their targets.
The US Air frce wants t develp space-based weapns that culd strike targets any where in the wrld within 90 minutes f receiving the rder t pen fire.
These new weapns under develpment cver a wide range. They include hunter-killer satellites(杀手卫星) and rbiting weapns(沿轨道运行的武器系统). And they use lasers, radi waves, r even dense metal tubes, knwn as "Rds frm Gd", drpped frm space t d the damage.
There are many barriers t the setting up f this kind f prgram, experts say.
First is the cst. It is estimated that the budget may be US $ 220 billin t US $1 trillin. The technical difficulties f develping reliable space weapns are als a prblem. And, the mve will draw strng criticism frm arund the wrld. Experts wrry abut triggering a space arms race.
