Human-driven climate change pses ne f the mst urgent challenges f ur time, while individuals’ decisins (e. g. hw ften peple fly, what type f car they drive) play a substantial rle in achieving net zer emissins. The study was based n 4,000 peple recruited t take an nline survey. A pre-test was cnducted t rate their willingness t engage in the 21 carbn emissin-reducing individual behavirs. Then they were randmly divided int tw grups receiving climate literacy interventin. Participants in the first grup were first asked t rank the effectiveness f the 21 individual behavirs, befre being shwn the true effectiveness ranking. The secnd grup f participants received infrmatin abut the carbn reductin ptential f the same behavirs
withut the predictin step. During the pst-test, participants in bth grups, again, rated their willingness t adpt these individual behavirs. Besides, participants rated each behaviur n hw easy r difficult it wuld be fr them t engage in each item.
After the interventin, clear psitive utcmes emerged fr bth grups: they expressed significantly greater willingness t adpt climate-friendly lifestyles. Hwever, cmpared with passive expsure t infrmatin, active prcessing f new infrmatin cntributes mre t updating peple’s beliefs.
The study als highlighted what really mtivated peple t act in their persnal lives. Peple will engage in lifestyle changes especially because they think it's easy t d, n matter hw effective they are.
“The study is part f a brader research prgram investigating hw scalable, lw-cst interventins can affect behavir.” Vlasceanu, a prfessr f envirnmental scial sciences, said. Climate change can be slved thrugh chices and changes invlving large numbers f peple. Future experiments may cmpare literacy-based strategies with emtinal appeals r persnal strytelling t determine which appraches mst effectively enhance individual engagement.”

The singularly mst imprtant questin we will ever ask is, “Wh am I?” Generally speaking, we are nt taught hw t answer that questin. We dn’t even ask it. Mst cmmnly, we define urselves by the mirrrs we see frm the external wrld.
We are being lked at. And we are lking at ther peple’s bservatins and perceptins as if they are a mirrr image f wh we are. But yu knw hw mirrrs are. We nly get a reversed (相反的) image. We have internalized ther peple’s ideas and we believe that they define us.
Even in the case, used here nly as an example, f the child wh internalizes a rebel identity. We say he’s “ut f cntrl.” He’s just trying t embarrass his parents. He’s just a “difficult child.” If nne f that is true, then wh is he really?
Frm the transpersnal therapy perspective, little Jhnny has becme what his parents needed him t be. What? Nbdy in their right mind wuld want t raise a rebel. Right?
Perhaps Jhnny’s parents have lived an uncnsciusly restrained life, strictly fllwing the scially acceptable cdes f the day. Yet, internally, they are itching (渴望) t be different. They just can’t because this rle as the “gd guy” has captured them. Hwever, all the itching internal stuff has t g smewhere. The simplest answer is that it is prjected nt little Jhnny. Then the parent can deal with it externally; they may typically react by trying t get Jhnny t take n the identity f anther gd guy.
That is hw it is fr mst f us. We intrject an idea f wh we are, which we have received by lking int the eyes f parents and family members, and we live it ut as if it is truly wh we are. Often, it is reinfrced many times ver many years, in this case, by trying t get Jhnny t live in the parents ’ cage, which nly means Jhnny will have t rebel yet again.
Under all that identificatin, we ask, wh are we really? The way t find it is t stp lking int ther peple’s eyes and start lking within.
Once that decisin is made, it might be a gd time t seek a therapist wh will help us d that in a safe envirnment. Within that safe envirnment, yu might als start jurnaling. Jurnaling is a dialgue with yurself—a dialgue between identity and self, r smene with whm yu have unreslved issues.
The real jurney, the ne that will need t be made in a safe space, is made f determinatin. Determinatin t g deeper and deeper. This is the true her’s jurney in which yu finally meet and retrieve yur wn self.
32.What are the first tw paragraphs mainly abut?
A. The miscnstructin f self-perceptin.
B. The internalized reflectin f self-identity.
C. Peple’s cnfusin abut their internal wrld.
D. Peple’s bservatin f a reversed mirrr image.
33. Why des the authr mentin the example f a “rebel” child?
A. T criticize a practice.
B. T challenge an argument.
C. T illustrate an idea.
D. T raise an assumptin.
34. What des the underlined wrd “intrject” in Paragraph 6 prbably mean?
A. Absrb.
B. Intrduce.
C. Value.
D. Generate.
35. It is implied in the passage that we shuld .
A. address unreslved issues with parents
B. balance given identity and genuine self
C. reclaim the authrity t define wh we are
D. reshape ur identity in a safe envirnment

When yu spend time with clse friends, hw d yu feel? Yu may feel like yu belng. Accrding t the Oxfrd dictinary, belnging is defined as a “deep sense f acceptance, inclusin, and identificatin within a grup, place, r cntext.” 36
Since the beginning f human evlutin, peple have cnnected with thers in rder t survive. This desire t frm and grw relatinships is rted in the human brain. 37 In 1943, Abraham Maslw was the first psychlgist t write abut belnging as a human need. Anther grundbreaking research abut belnging emerged in 1995. Mark Leary and Ry Baumeister fund that humans have a universal drive t belng, which mtivates their thughts and actins. In fact, this drive is s imprtant that they argued it was a fundamental human need—nt a secndary need in a hierarchy. Their later research explred the cnnectin between self-esteem and belnging. Accrding t their research, self-esteem is nt just abut hw peple feel abut themselves internally. 38
Althugh feeling cnnected t peple is imprtant in many settings, it becmes especially critical in schls. A 2020 research analysis fund that students wh d nt feel a sense f belnging at schl are ften searching fr threats in their envirnment that signal whether they are welcme r nt. 39 This, in turn, can cause prer academic perfrmance. It can als discurage students frm frming deeper relatinships. S, a student's feeling f belnging is vital fr their learning.
40 Researchers will cntinue t analyze hw persnality, culture, and even scial media shape hw cnnected we feel t thers. With this knwledge, peple can create schls and cmmunities where mre peple feel included. That way, we can develp a sciety that is verall healthier, happier, and mre cnnected.
A. They may d things t increase their self-esteem.
B. This stress can use up cgnitive resurces needed fr learning.
C. Belnging is a cmplex thing because it is influenced by many factrs.
D. Over the years, researchers have been explring this subjective feeling.
E. Feeling like yu belng can actually imprve many aspects f yur life.
F. It actually serves as a warning signal that measures hw much peple feel accepted.
G. When yu see yurself well suited t a specific envirnment, yu feel valued and respected.
