The Dujiangyan irrigatin system is near Chengdu in Sichuan Prvince. It was built ver 2,200 years ag t slve a water prblem: the Minjiang River frequently flded the area. Instead f building a dam, Li Bing, the gvernr, divided the river int channels. This cntrlled the flds and prvided water fr farming. As a result, farmers culd grw mre plants. Tday, the system still irrigates ver 6,600 square kilmetres f land. And it became a UNESCO Wrld Heritage site in 2000. The system remains imprtant tday. It wrks well and attracts many turists every year. Withut it, life in this area wuld be much harder. This prject shws hw we can wrk with nature fr a better life. It als reflects the great wisdm f the ancient Chinese. We must prtect it fr the future.
