      教学目标
      通过本课时的学习,学生能够:
      1. 识记和理解描述慈善组织及公益慈善行动的词汇;
      2. 能梳理、对比不同慈善组织的工作内容和价值差异,给予积极回应;
      3. 运用相关词汇和表达,就慈善组织的工作目标和意义与同伴进行交流,初步感知公益慈善援助的社会价值并表达个人参与意愿。
      教学内容
      教学重点:
      根据视频、图片、音频及对话获取有关慈善组织的基本信息;
      运用所学词汇和句型交流不同慈善组织工作的目标和意义;
      明确单元主题和分层学习目标,建立“慈善—助人—责任”的主题认知。
      教学难点:
      运用恰当的英文表达与同伴进行对话,讨论不同慈善组织工作目标及意义;
      在初步探讨慈善机构的使命与运作方式后,能感知公益援助的社会价值并燃起参与志愿活动的意愿。
      教学过程
      Step 1: Lead-in
      Activity:
      1. Shw the image frm the textbk.
      Ask students: “What des the picture lk like? What des it make yu think f ?” .
      Students might think f “lve”, “caring”, “help”, “charity” and s n.
      2. Present the unit title “Charities” and briefly intrduce the 4 unit gals.
      Design Intent:
      T activate students’ prir knwledge f psitive values (lve, care), build an emtinal cnnectin t the theme f "charities," and naturally intrduce the unit title and learning gals in a relatable, discussin-based way.
      Step 2: Intrductin t Charities Arund the Wrld
      Activity:
      1. Play a shrt vide that intrduces Dctrs Withut Brders. After watching, ask: “What charity is mentined? ” “What is it als called?” “When was it set up?” “What is the mst tuching part f its wrk fr yu?”. Guide students t fcus n key infrmatin when watching.
      2. Intrduce the lg f Dctrs Withut Brders and guide students t pay attentin t charity lgs and learn t btain relevant infrmatin frm them.
      3. Present mre charity lgs. Teacher asks: “What can yu see in the lg and what might the charity d?” Evaluate and supplement students’ answers t intrduce the fur main charities t be cvered in this lessn.
      Design Intent:
      T use a vide t quickly aruse students’ interest and intrduce basic infrmatin abut Dctrs Withut Brders. Lgs help t lwer the difficulty f learning new charity names, encurage students’ critical thinking (guessing functins), and systematically intrduce cre charities as the lessn’s fcus.
      Step 3: The wrk f a charity
      Activity:
      1. Play the textbk audi (Part A). Students cmplete the fill-in-the-blank table abut each charity’s funding year and specific wrk (e.g., “Dctrs Withut Brders was set up in 1971; it sends dctrs and nurses t help in emergencies”).
      2. Students cmplete the fill-in-the-blank table while listening. Afterward, check answers as a class.
      3. Students bserve the fur pictures in Part A, cnnect them with the knwledge they have just learned, and write dwn the crrespnding charities under each picture.
      Design Intent:
      T help students rganize infrmatin systematically (via tables), and reinfrce understanding f charity facts (names + histry + wrk) thrugh auditry input.
      Step 4: Dialgue Mdeling
      Activity:
      1. Have the students listen t the dialgue between Amy and Simn t btain relevant infrmatin abut Operatin Smile and g n cmpleting the fill-in-the-blank table.
      2. Based n the dialgue, students learn t talk abut charity rganizatins using apprpriate language. Direct students t the mdel dialgue structure n the PPT:
      - A: D yu knw any imprtant charities?
      - B: Yes. Fr example, I’ve heard f ... It was funded in ...
      - A: S what d they d?
      - B: ...
      - A: That’s great!
      - B: It is. Thanks t ..., many peple ...
      3. Students practice the dialgue in pairs, fcusing n prnunciatin and intnatin. Invite 2-3 pairs t perfrm their dialgues in frnt f the class.
      4. Have students talk abut the biggest prblem in their hmetwn and explain.
      Design Intent:
      T prvide a clear linguistic mdel fr talking abut charities, imprve students’ spken fluency thrugh guided repetitin, and build cnfidence in using target structures.
      Step 5: Reflectin, Summary & Value Guidance
      Activity:
      1. Shw the PPT slide with the sentence "Help and supprt can mve muntains". Ask students: "Hw d yu understand the sentence after learning abut charities?"
      2. End with a call t actin: "Charities need everyne’s help. Even small actins make a big difference. Let’s care mre abut peple and the wrld arund us."
      Design Intent:
      T cnslidate learning thrugh reflectin, cnnect the lessn t psitive values (helping thers), and end with a mtivatinal message that deepens students’ understanding f charity’s imprtance.
      Step 6: Hmewrk
      Activity:
      1. Must-d: Search fr mre charities and talk abut them with yur friends.
      2. Make a pster fr the charity yu wuld like t vlunteer fr t make mre peple interested in it.
      Design Intent:
      T encurage creativity (pster design), extend learning beynd the classrm, and allw students t engage with the theme based n their interests.
