A new high-speed train called T-flight is being develped in Datng, Shanxi. T-Flight is an ultra-high-speed maglev (超高速磁悬浮) train, representing a majr breakthrugh in China’s high-speed transprtatin technlgy.
In a shrt-track test, T-Flight achieved a recrd speed f 623 km/h, traveling faster than the previus glbal fastest perating train speed (581 km/h by Japan’s MLX01 maglev). Engineers aim t further increase its speed t 2,000 km/h in the future. If cmmercialized, it culd shrten the travel time between Wuhan and Beijing frm the current 4 hurs t just 30 minutes.
The reasn why T-flight is s fast is that it mves within a lw-vacuum (低真空) tube-a special tube with almst n air. With less air, there is less air resistance. Meanwhile, maglev technlgy makes sure that the train and the track keep frm tuching, helping the train mve faster. Mre imprtantly, it reduces energy use by abut 30% cmpared t rdinary trains.
