althugh、until、s that 引导的状语从句
→引导让步状语从句→不与but连用
→引导目的状语从句,从句谓语中多含有 can、culd、may等情态动词。→引导结果状语从句,从句谓语中通常不含 情态动词。
→引导时间状语从句→主句是肯定句时,谓语动词用延续性动词; 主句是否定句时,谓语动词用非延续性动词。
althugh作连词,意为“虽然;尽管”,引导让步状语从句,可放在主句前,也可放在主句后,相当于thugh。
e.g. Althugh sleep is s imprtant, many peple these days are nt getting enugh. 尽管睡眠如此重要,但现在仍有很多人睡眠不足。(重庆中考A卷)
e.g. Althugh David has failed many times, he is always full f hpe fr the future. 尽管戴维失败了很多次,但他总是对未来充满希望。(福建中考)
特别提醒:在英语中,表示“虽然······但是······”时,althugh/thugh不能和but在同一个句子中使用,但可以与yet、still同时使用。
尽管这台机器老旧了,但是它依然运行良好。e.g. Althugh the machine is ld, it still runs well. = The machine is ld, but it still runs well.

until作连词,意为“到……时;直到……为止”,引导时间状语从句,常放在主句之后,也可以放在主句之前。具体用法有:
e.g. I’ll stay here until yu cme back. 我会待在这里,直到你回来。
①主句是肯定句时,其谓语动词用延续性动词,强调主句的动作或 状态一直持续到从句的动作发生时为止,译成“直到……为止”。
e.g. I wn’t believe it until I see it with my wn eyes. 直到我亲眼所见,我才会相信它。
②主句是否定句时,其谓语动词用非延续性动词,强调主句的动作 在从句的动作发生之后才开始,一般译成“直到……才……”。
从句用一般现在时表示将来
在时间状语从句和条件状语从句中, 如果主句是一般将来时, 从句要用一般现在时(即“主将从现”原则)。

s that意为“为了,以便”,引导目的状语从句,一般放在主句后,且不用逗号隔开,相当于in rder that,从句谓语中多含有can, culd, will, may等情态动词。
e.g. I gave yu a map s that (=in rder that) yu wuldn’t get lst. 我给你一张地图以免你迷路。
e.g. I hpe t bring erhu t the wrld s that mre peple can learn abut traditinal Chinese music.(2025遂宁中考) 我希望将二胡推广到全世界,让更多人了解中国传统音乐。
s that 还可引导结果状语从句,意为“因此,所以”。 此时从句中一般不含情态动词。
e.g. The mvie was bring s that half f the audience was asleep. 这部电影太无聊了,所以一半的观众都睡着了。

if 意为“如果”,引导条件状语从句。在含有if 引导的条件状语从句的主从复合句中,如果主句为下列情形之一,条件状语从句要用一般现在时。
①主句时态为一般将来时。 e.g. If it rains, we will stay at hme. 如果下雨,我们将待在家里。
②主句是含有情态动词can, culd, may, might, shuld等句子。 e.g. If it is necessary, I can cme at nce. 如果有必要,我可以马上来。
③主句是祈使句。 e.g. If yu see him, give him this nte. 如果你见到他,就把这个便条给他。
