Nevertheless,I kept at it.
One miserable rainy day,ne f my regulars came in,lking depressed and defeated.When I asked if I culd help,he just said he felt like crawling int bed and staying there fr a few years.I knew exactly hw he felt.
Befre he left,I slipped his favurite dughnut int a bag and handed it t him alng with his cffee.“It’s n me!Have a nice day!” I said with a smile.He seemed surprised but thanked me warmly befre heading back ut int the rain.
