Beena’s jurney int educatin didn’t begin in a university r a training institute. It began in the heart f her hme. Like many wmen in India, she spent years juggling chres, raising children, and putting her family first. But when her children grew up and mved n, smething shifted. With time n her hands and a mind full f purpse, she turned t vluntary service and decided t fill a gap that sciety had lng frgtten. In her wrds, “Many f ur elders never had the chance t g t schl. Nw the wrld is changing s fast, and they ften feel left behind.”
Determined t change that narrative, Beena started small. Her first classrm was the street itself, lit nly by a single streetlight. A few curius wmen jined her, hesitant at first, but warmed by Beena’s patience and kindness. Slwly, letters turned int wrds, and wrds int sentences. Nine years later, what began under a streetlight has blssmed int a full classrm at a lcal senir citizens’ centre.
With n large Nn-Gvernmental Organizatin backing her and n spnsrship banners (横幅) in sight, Beena funds the schl herself. By day, she runs a small business with her sisters. Whatever they earn ges straight int buying ntebks, pencils, and chalk.
But Beena is giving her students much mre than literacy. She is giving them dignity, cnfidence, and a sense f belnging. The curisity and laughter that fill Beena’s classrm each afternn are prf that it’s never t late t learn.

Large pieces f ice fall frm the sky, bunce ff hard surfaces — and smetimes even break windshields and hurt crps. This is a hailstrm. Hail (冰雹) frms high in the cluds during a strm. There, sme raindrps freeze slid. As mre and mre raindrps cllide, an icy “stne” grws in size until it’s t heavy t remain in the air.
Researchers are hping t better understand sme f the mysteries f hail. One big questin is hw hail mves thrugh the atmsphere and builds up in size. Sme hailstnes have measured mre than 13 centimeters acrss. Scientists used t think that hailstnes grew by taking a lping (绕圈) path thrugh the atmsphere. Think f their path as upward and dwnward like a merry-g-rund tipped n its side. But such lping mtins are actually rare, scientists in China have nw shwn.
An atmspheric scientist Zhang Qinghng frm Peking University, wrking with her team, had been cllecting hailstnes since 2016. Zhang’s team gathered mre than 3, 000 f these bits f ice and analyzed the chemistry f them. First, they sliced the stnes, which allwed them t see layers f ice inside. They then analyzed the specific istpes (同位素) f xygen present in the frzen water within each layer. By matching that chemistry with the characteristics f the atmsphere at different heights, they culd estimate the paths each ice ball had taken thrugh the sky.
Only 1 ut f the 27 analyzed hailstnes appeared t have mved like a tipped-ver merry-g-grund. That was unexpected. “It’s surprising,” says Zhang.
“Hailstnes are a windw int the atmsphere,” says Becky Adams, a hail scientist wh lives in Omaha. “It can be hard t directly bserve where hail frms,” she explains. “We’re blind t what’s happening inside the cluds. But hailstnes deliver clues abut what’s ging n high in the sky right int scientists’ hands.”

Yu’ve just finished studying fr an imprtant exam. Instead f checking yur phne, yu listen t music fr 10 minutes. New research says this simple chice can greatly change what yur brain remembers and what it frgets.
Study c-authrs Kayla Clark frm Rice University and Stephanie Leal frm UCLA have discvered smething that changes what we thught abut music and memry. Their general memry gt wrse, but their detailed memry imprved dramatically.
The findings may have medical applicatins. Music therapy (疗法) is increasingly used fr patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Rather than using the same apprach fr everyne, dctrs might need t chse specific musical interventins based n whether they want t supprt general memry r detailed recall.
In a wrd, music isn’t simply gd r bad fr memry. It’s a tl that can be adjusted t bst specific types f thinking. The challenge nw is learning t use that tl intentinally rather than by accident.
12.Hw were the students gruped after remembering the images?

      C. By the cntent they listened t.D. By their emtinal respnses.

      B. They are gd at recgnizing bjects.
      C. They like t d memry tasks.
      D. They have imprved detailed memry.
14.Why is the research useful fr Alzheimer’s patients?

      B. It discvers the real needs f patients.
      C. It ffers persnalized treatment ideas.
      D. It shws feeling is the key t treatment.
15.What can be a suitable title fr the text?
      A. Music: A Cure fr Memry LssB. Hw Music Tunes Yur Memry
