Since ancient times, fd has been a base fr cultures wrldwide. It is imprtant fr ur survival, which is why attentin n fd is a universal rule that cnnects us all. T feed ur hungry

The French think f the cking experience; Americans think f what is
entering the bldstream.
Smetimes, slurping (出声地吃) ndles is seen as the preferred way t interact with the delicius bwl. There is a great scene in Juz Itami’s film, Tampp (1985) where a grup f wmen in a htel are being taught table manners and tld t eat their Italian pasta ndles slwly and quietly. Anther diner sitting nearby happily is slurping his ndles and the jy he gets frm ludly and physically interacting with his fd is infectius and befre they knw it even the teacher is als
slurping her ndles.

After asking abut her versin, I realized that she learned hw t make it by picking up different cking styles as she traveled frm Jiangxi, Maca, and Hng Kng,” said Shirley Ting, a

If we treat culture as a defined thing, then we can see fd as an imprtant part f culture—fd practices and traditins help cmmunicate cultural values, reprduce thse values ver time and acrss generatins, and help imprve a grup’s sense f having a distinct identity, different
frm ther grups.
32. What may we learn frm Paul Rzin’s research n fd?
A. Peple have the same fd-related health cncerns.
B. Fd vcabulary increases with cultural exchanges.
C. Different cultures priritize different aspects f fd.
D. Americans and the French have similar cking methds.
33. Why des the authr mentin the scene in Tampp?
A. T highlight different fd preferences.
B. T criticize rude manners in public places.
C. T stress the attractin f pleasurable dining.
D. T cmpare dining habits in films and daily life.
34. Which functin f fd is mentined in the last paragraph?
A. Passing dwn traditinal cking techniques.
B. Strengthening cultural values and uniqueness.
C. Encuraging cultural appreciatin f fd glbally.
D. Imprving physical and mental health in cmmunities.
35. Which f the fllwing can be a suitable title fr the text?
A. Fd: A Bridge t Culture B. Health: Dietary Impact
