Fr many parents raising a teenager is like fighting a lng war, but years g by withut any clear winner. Like a brder cnflict between neighburing cuntries, the parent teen war is abut bundaries: Where is the line between what I cntrl and what yu d?
Bth sides want peace, but neither feels it has any pwer t stp the cnflict. In part, this is because neither is willing t admit any respnsibility fr starting it. Frm the parents’ pint f view, the nly cause f their fight is their adlescents’ cmplete unreasnableness. And f curse, the teens see it in exactly the same way, except ppsitely. Bth feel trapped.
In this article, I’ll describe three n win situatins that cmmnly arise between teens and parents and then suggest sme ways ut f the trap. The first n win situatin is quarrels ver unimprtant things. Secnd, blaming. The gal f a blaming battle is t make the ther admit that his bad attitude is the reasn why everything ges wrng. Third, needing t be right. It desn’t matter what the tpic is — plitics, the laws f physics, r the prper way t break an egg — the pint f these arguments is t prve that yu are right and the ther persn is wrng, fr bth wish t be cnsidered an authrity — smene wh actually knws smething —and therefre t cmmand respect. Unfrtunately, as lng as parents and teens cntinue t assume that they knw mre than the ther, they’ll cntinue t fight these battles frever and never make any real prgress.
28. Why des the authr cmpare the parent teen war t a brder cnflict?

根据第一段的“Like a brder cnflict between neighburing cuntries, the parent teen war is abut bundaries: Where is the line between what I cntrl and what yu d?(就像邻国之间的边境冲突一样,父母与青少年之间的战争是关于界限的:在我能控制的事情和你所做的事情之间的界限在哪里呢?)”
根据第二段的“Frm the parents’ pint f view, the nly cause f their fight is their adlescents’ cmplete unreasnableness. (从父母的角度来看,他们争吵的唯一原因是他们的青少年完全不讲道理)”以及“Bth feel trapped.(双方都觉得陷入了困境)”可知,双方陷入了困境的原因是父母认为是青少年的原因导致冲突,而青少年则认为是父母的原因导致冲突,所以划线部分意思是 “青少年指责他们的父母引发了冲突”。故选B。
【30题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段的“Third, needing t be right. 【31题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段的“In this article, I’ll describe three n win situatins that cmmnly arise between teens and parents and then suggest sme ways ut f the trap.(在这篇文章中,我将描述三种通常出现在青少年和父母之间的两败俱伤的情况,然后提出一些摆脱困境的方法)”以及后面描述了三种情况可知,接下来作者很可能会讨论解决父母与青少年问题的方法。故选A。

In cntrast, peple with negative characters were nt at increased risk f develping a cld based n bjective measures, thugh they did tend t get dwn abut their symptms.
“We find that it`s really psitive emtins that have the big effect,” Chen said, “nt the negative nes.”

A. Get clse t. Keep away frm.远离;C. Get used t.习惯于;D. G n with.继续。根据文章第一句“Staying psitive thrugh the cld seasn culd be yur best defense against getting sick(在寒冷的季节保持积极的心态可能是你预防生病的最好方法,)”可知,积极的心态可以让人少生病,划线词所在句子“that a “psitive emtinal style” can help ward ff the cmmn cld and ther illness.( “积极情绪”有助于ward ff感冒和其他疾病。”的主语是a psitive emtinal style,宾语是the cmmn cld and ther illness,可推断,该句中的ward ff意为:远离,故选B项。
根据倒数第二段中Chen 所说的话“We find that it`s really psitive emtins that have the big effect(我们发现积极的情绪有很大的影响)”可推断,他们做这项研究的目的就是为了检查健康是否与情绪类型有关。故选D项。
