      Peple exercise, like running r lifting weights, t stay healthy. One special exercise is called planking (平板支撑). T plank, yu get dwn like yu are ging t lie n yur stmach. Yu rest yur weight n yur arms and tes (脚趾) t keep yur bdy straight. This exercise wrks ut yur abs (腹肌) and legs!
      Many peple can hld a plank fr a minute. But 58-year-ld DnnaJean Wilde held her plank fr 4 hurs, 30 minutes, and 11 secnds! She set the wmen’s wrld recrd fr the lngest plank time!
      Wilde has always been active. But abut 10 years ag, Wilde brke her wrist (手腕). She culdn’t exercise the way she was used t. She started planking. “I realized that I culd read when I was planking, and I fell in lve with it,” Wilde said.
      Wilde first had pain in her hands and arms, but that didn’t stp her. T prepare fr the recrd, she practiced fr up t six hurs a day. She wuld even watch mvies while planking!
      On the big day, Wilde planked at the high schl where she used t wrk. Her family and students came t cheer her n! A wrker frm Guinness Wrld Recrds kept an eye n her perfrmance the whle time.
      Wilde said the first tw hurs went by quickly. The next tw hurs were harder, hwever. “The last hur was the mst challenging,” she said. In the final 30 minutes, Wilde just fcused n breathing and stayed calm. When she brke the recrd, everyne shuted and cheered. Wilde planked abut 10 minutes lnger than the ld recrd! “I actually can’t believe it. It feels like a dream,” Wilde said.
      Wilde had advice fr peple. “Whatever yu like, the better yu get at it, the easier it becmes,” she said.

      Our thumbs (拇指) are imprtant fr us t take and hld things. But what if we had a third thumb? Dani Clde, a designer frm New Zealand, invented the Third Thumb t give peple anther finger. It helps peple d things like pening a bttle with just ne hand. The Third Thumb can even make carrying a lt f things easier!
      Clde made the Third Thumb while studying at the Ryal Cllege f Art in Lndn, UK. The Third Thumb has tw mtrs (发动机) that make it mve. Users can cntrl thse mtrs by pressing their big tes. When yu press ne big te, the Third Thumb will mve twards the palm. Press the ther big te, and the Third Thumb will mve twards the ther fingers.
      Clde wrked with a team f scientists frm the University f Cambridge t test the Third Thumb. They spent five days asking 596 peple frm age 3 t age 96 t try it. Almst all users were able t pick up and mve things easily with it.
      The inventin can help peple a lt. “Fr example, if smene has truble using bth hands, they can use the Third Thumb t make ne hand d the wrk f tw,” Clde said. “It can als help peple wh nly have ne hand. It’s all abut helping peple use their hands in new and hpefully better ways.”
      Clde had advice fr yung peple. “Start explring,” she suggested. “Try building smething, even if it’s small. And dn’t be afraid f making mistakes. Inventins are all abut thinking f new ways t slve prblems and make life better fr peple. Yu culd invent smething n ne has ever thught f befre!”

      Duncan McCabe shared a 27-secnd digital art vide, and it tk him 10 mnths and abut 700 miles-t make it.
      McCabe, 32, an excellent runner and animatin (动画) lver, set ut n a jurney in January t create a dancing stick figure. He made it using the ppular GPS-tracking app Strava, which allws runners t recrd their rutes (路线).
      Using Strava’s map functin, McCabe recrded 120 runs -and when he strung each f the maps tgether, it shwed a hat-wearing stick figure dancing t the sng “Purple Hat” acrss the streets f Trnt. McCabe’s vide is part f a grwing mvement knwn as GPS art, which means using apps like Strava with lcatin-tracking features t create digital drawings ver a map f a specific regin.
      Rather than just ne piece f static (静态的) GPS art, McCabe’s vide includes many runs, requiring careful planning. McCabe was nt deterred by the time required r the difficulty f mapping the rutes. “If I have a lng-term gal, I’m ready t wrk fr a very lng time,” said McCabe.
      McCabe had seen ther peple try their hand at GPS designs, but nne f them were in vide frm. “As far as I knw, it’s an riginal idea. I’m pineering Strava animatin,” he said. Last Christmas, McCabe was chatting with his wife abut ideas fr a Strava animatin, and she recmmended a dancing figure.
      McCabe actually ran farther than the app gave him credit fr, as he wuld ften have t run ne t tw miles while stpping the app t create diagnal lines (斜线) he needed t draw. “Hnestly, it was tiring.
