Objectives:
By the end f this lessn, hpefully pupils will be able t:
Fllw the teacher’s instructin and make their wn name tags;
Enjy making the name tags;
Intrduce their wn English names using the newly-made name tags;
Enjy singing the chant t greet each ther.
Language fcus: Hell, My name is …
Prcedures:
Activity 1:
Let’s make name tags! (D the “Let’s make” activity n Page 6.)
1.Get the children t fllw the teacher’s instructins and make their wn name tags.
2.The teacher ges arund the classrm and gives cmments like “Super! Great! Gd! OK!”
Activity 2:
Lk at my beautify name tags!
The teacher first gets a few pupils t shw their name tags encuraging them t say “Hell, my name is …”
The teacher gives cmments like “Super! Great! Gd! OK!” while they shw their newly-made name tags.
Ask the children t share their name tags in grups using the target language.
Activity 3:
Let’s chant a rhyme (D the “Let’s chant” sectin n Page 3.)
Identity the fur big grups f pupils as “Super!” grup, “Gd!” grup, “OK” grup and “Great ~” grup respectively.
Ask each grup t shut their wn slgans ne by ne as sn as the whle class finishes singing “Hw are yu ? “.
Swap identities s that all fur grups have the chance t say ther wrks.
When the children get skilful, the teacher can replace the names in the chant with the children’s English names.
Ask them t give grup perfrmances.
Activity 4:
What are they saying? (D the “Speak fr them” activity in the activity Bk One, Page 3, Exercise 4, Unit 1.)
In this activity, the children need t wrk in grups and design mini dialgues fr the tw pupils in the picture.
Act ut the dialgues.
