II. Teaching Key Pints and Difficult Pints

III. Teaching Prcedures
1. Lead - in (5 minutes)
Shw pictures f peple. Ask: “Wh’d yu make friends with? Why?” Aruse interest in “best friends”.
2. Pre - reading (8 minutes)
Discuss pre - reading questins: “Wh’s yur best friend? What’s he/she like?” Let students predict article cntent frm titles/pictures.
3. While - reading (20 minutes)
Skimming: Read articles quickly t find main ideas (intrduce Betty’s/Max’s lks & qualities). Share answers.
Scanning: Fr Betty/Max, find lk & quality details. Cmplete Task A individually, then check as a class.
4. Pst - reading (12 minutes)
Discussin: Grup - discuss Task D questins (e.g., Betty’s helpful ways). Share answers, get feedback.
Language Fcus: Present key vcab/phrases. Explain with examples. D quick drill (Chinese - English).
5. Speaking (10 minutes)
Cmplete Task A cnversatin individually, practice in pairs. Perfrm in frnt. Discuss Task D ideas in grups.
IV. Summary (3 minutes)
Teacher summarizes key cntent, vcab. Ask students t share what they’ve learned.
V. Hmewrk (4 minutes)
Read articles again, write a passage abut wn best friend (lks & qualities). Prepare t share next class.
