A ttal f 102 architectural heritage prjects have been included in the 9th Batch f China's 20th Century Architectural Heritage Prjects fr the better prtectin f the heritage in Chinese architecture in the 20th century. Experts said China has transitined frm "cultural relic prtectin" t "cultural heritage prtectin," and this awareness will prvide new pssibilities fr urban develpment and cultural preservatin, accrding t the reprt f China News n Sunday.
The list f prjects in the 9th batch f China's 20th century architectural heritage is revealed at the "Public Visin f 20th Century Heritage - Intrductin f the 9th Batch f China's 20th Century Architectural Heritage Prjects and Seminar" held in Tianjin n Saturday, which included Tianjin Ancient Culture Street, the peple's cngress hall in Ningb, East China's Zhejiang Prvince, Jiangxi Prvincial Art Museum in East China's Jiangxi Prvince amng thers, China News reprted.
An academic highlight f the event was the release f the China 20th Century Architectural Heritage Annual Reprt (2014-24) blue bk.

Industry insiders delivered keynte speeches, examining the cncept f 20th-century architectural heritage frm different perspectives. They als prvided attendees with a new perspective n the activatin and utilizatin f architectural heritage frm an internatinal standpint. Other participating experts shared their design experiences, insights, and feelings in heritage preservatin and develpment.
Shan Jixiang, chairman f the China Cultural Relics Academy and directr f the Academic Cmmittee f the Palace Museum, said that "activatin" is the fcus f the prtectin f these buildings. "20th century architectural heritage is nt 'frzen,' but changes with the times. A histrical building r zne must be given tday's functins, used crrectly, and utilized reasnably."
"Cmpared with traditinal wden ancient buildings, industrial heritage has a wider range f uses." Taking Beijing's Shugang Park as an example, Shan intrduced the imprtance f "activatin." "Shugang Park used t be a steel prductin base, but has nw becme an industrial heritage park after ceasing prductin. Many large-scale cultural, turism, and sprts activities are taking place in Shugang Park, and its functins are cnstantly expanding," Shan said.
He added that prtecting 20th-century architectural heritage is nt just the task f the gvernment r cultural departments but the respnsibility f all peple. Only when the general public understands the value f these heritage sites and their significance fr future generatins will they be carefully preserved, gain "dignity," and becme a psitive frce fr ecnmic and scial develpment, benefiting the daily and cultural lives f mre peple.
Regarding the current situatin f the prtectin f Chinese cultural heritage, Shan tld the Glbal Times that China has transitined frm "cultural relic prtectin" t "cultural heritage prtectin"; frm nly prtecting ancient cultural relics t prtecting cntemprary and 20th-century cultural heritage; and frm nly prtecting "a bridge r a twer" t prtecting crridrs fr cmmdity trade and cultural exchange.
"The activatin f buildings" nt nly cntinues the value f histrical heritage but als prvides new pssibilities fr urban develpment. "The 20th century architectural heritage builds a bridge between the past and the future. We shuld balance the relatinship between prtectin and activatin, paving the way fr future urban cnstructin and cultural preservatin," Shan said.

Fr tw weeks in March, Greenwich Village’s Blue Hill restaurant was renamed wastED, and served items like fried skate cartilage, a juice pulp burger, and a dumpster diver’s vegetable salad. Each dish was tailr-made t raise awareness regarding fd waste.
A study by the Fd Waste Alliance determined that the average restaurant generates 33 punds f fd waste fr every $1,000 in revenue (收入), and f that waste nly 15.7% is dnated r recycled. Up t 84.3% is simply thrwn ut. Restaurants like Sil in the UK have experimented with zer-waste systems, but wastED tk the cncept t its lgical cnclusin.
It shuld be nted that nne f the items n wastED’s menu was technically made frm garbage. Instead, all the ingredients (配料) used were examples f meat cuts and prduce that mst restaurants wuld never cnsider serving. Things like kale ribs, fish cllars, rejected sweet ptates, and cucumber butts were all re-apprpriated and, with the help f a number f gd chefs, turned int excellent cuisine.
Thugh wastED received enthusiastic reviews, it was designed frm the start as a shrt-lived experiment; Blue Hill has since returned t its regular menu. Nevertheless, it serves as a reminder that there are many ways t address prblems f sustainability, and that yu can make an amazing meal ut f almst anything.
      12. What can be inferred abut the authr’s early life?
      A. He witnessed fd shrtage.B. He enjyed the lcal cuisine.
      C. He dnated fd t Africans.D. He helped t ck at hme.

      A. T custmize dishes fr guests.B. T make the public aware f fd waste.
      C. T test a fd prcessing methd.D. T imprve the UK’s zer-waste systems.
      14. What is paragraph 5 mainly abut?
      A. Why the ingredients were used.B. Which dishes were best liked.
      C. What the dishes were made f.D. Where the ingredients were bught.
      15. What can we learn abut wastED?
      A. It has ended as planned.B. It is creating new jbs.
      C. It has regained ppularity.D. It is criticized by tp chefs.
A 13. B 14. C 15. A
根据文章第一段中“Maybe that feeling cmes frm grwing up in Suth Africa where the phrase “there are children starving in Africa” was mre f an uncmfrtable reminder f fact than a prayer at dinner time. 故选A。
根据文章第三段中“Each dish was tailr-made t raise awareness regarding fd waste.
根据文章第五段“It shuld be nted that nne f the items n wastED’s menu was technically made frm garbage.
根据文章最后一段中“Thugh wastED received enthusiastic reviews, it was designed frm the start as a shrt-lived experiment; Blue Hill has since returned t its regular menu. 故选A。

      Passage 1
(24-25高二上·山东月考)When I bught a huse in Prtland fur years ag, I immediately began designing my dream garden, intending t remve the weeds and plant sme vegetables r lng-lasting flwers. I sn discvered, hwever, that the sil was unprductive, clay-heavy and littered with stnes. In previus, much tinier gardens, I’d fix it with a few bags f high-quality sil frm the nursery. Replacing this vastly greater quantity f dirt was neither practical nr financially pssible. Instead, I decided t remediate (补救) what I already had.
The challenge befre me was t revitalize the sil. Tw cre principles f mdern agriculture can guide this shift: minimizing sil disturbance and emphasizing bidiversity. In practice, grwing crps by turns, priritizing rganic inputs ver chemical fertilizers, integrating crps, trees and livestck, and shielding sil frm being washed away with cver crps, ften wrk.
I tried t apply such methds in my garden. Where nce there was nly grass, I created a pnd, a rck garden, a wildflwer field and raised beds fr vegetables. I let plants grw and decmpse by themselves in a natural way. I als intrduced different plants and revived its eclgical cmmunities.
In May, I decided t relcate a flwering plant. As I dug the plant ut, all manner f life emerged. Earthwrms swung frm the rts. A daddy lnglegs hurried fr shelter. Belw the plant I even nticed the fine white lattice f a fungal mycelium.
Running my fingers thrugh the sil, I understd, mre clearly than ever befre, that I transfrmed much mre than my yard — it cmpletely changed the way I think abut sil. It’s nt simply as a medium fr life, but as a living entity (个体) in its wn right. Althugh science still lacks an agreed definitin f life, textbks highlight criteria widely cnsidered t differentiate the living and nnliving. Sil meets many f them: It has a highly rganized structure. It has a capacity fr active self-preservatin. It grws. It breathes. And it can die.
      1. Hw did the authr use t imprve the sil?
      A. By adding rich sil.B. By cvering it with bags.
      C. By remving the weeds.D. By applying chemical fertilizer.
      2. What des the underlined wrd “shielding” in paragraph 2 prbably mean?
      A. Expsing.B. Separating.C. Sheltering.D. Mnitring.
      3. What is the purpse f paragraph 4?
      A. T explain the prcess f transplanting.
      B. T illustrate the preventin f insect attacks.
      C. T stress the cmpetitin f different species.
      D. T state the frmatin f multi-species cmmunities.
      4. What can be a suitable title fr the text?
      A. The Sul f SilB. The Vitality f the Wild
      C. The Art f GardeningD. The Whisper f Flwers
A 2. C 3. D 4. A
根据文章第一段“In previus, much tinier gardens, I’d fix it with a few bags f high-quality sil frm the nursery. 故选A项。
根据第二段划线词前面“Tw cre principles f mdern agriculture can guide this shift: minimizing sil disturbance and emphasizing bidiversity. In practice, grwing crps by turns; priritizing rganic inputs ver chemical fertilizers; integrating crps, trees and livestck;
根据文章第四段“In May, I decided t relcate a flwering plant. As I dug the plant ut, all manner f life emerged. Earthwrms swung frm the rts. A daddy lnglegs hurried fr shelter. Belw the plant I even nticed the fine white lattice f a fungal mycelium.
根据文章第二段“The challenge befre me was t revitalize the sil. (摆在我面前的挑战是重振土壤)” 和文章最后一段“Running my fingers thrugh the sil, I understd, mre clearly than ever befre, that I transfrmed much mre than my yard — it cmpletely changed the way I think abut sil. It’s nt simply as a medium fr life, but as a living entity (个体) in its wn right. 故选A项。
