If yu just want t see giant pandas, we recmmend yu t g t Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Base. It is the mst easily accessible panda base. Yu can see pandas at different ages. This base is huge but usually crwded.
If yu are lking fr a deeper panda experience, yu can jin a panda vlunteer prgram. Giant panda vlunteer prgrams are available in three panda bases: Dujiangyan, Wlng, and Bifengxia. They take abut 1 t 3 days r lnger. Dujiangyan is the best place fr a ne-day prgram. If yu want a less-crwded envirnment, cnsider Wlng and Bifengxia, thugh they require 2 r mre days. Giant pandas spend almst half their time sleeping. Grwn-up giant pandas in captivity (圈养) usually eat twice a day: early in the mrning and late in the afternn. Brn in Hangzhu in 1911, Qian Xuesen attended schls in Beijing and then entered Shanghai Jia Tng University t study Railway Mechanical Engineering. Hwever, after the Snghu Battle brke ut in 1932, Qian made the decisin t switch his majr t aviatin because he realised that China needed its wn pwerful air frce t prtect and defend the cuntry.
Qian went t the United States in 1935 t pursue his graduate studies. Over the curse f the 1930s and 1940s, Qian became a pineer in American jet and rcket technlgy. As a graduate assistant at the Califrnia Institute f Technlgy during the 1930s, Qian helped cnduct imprtant research int rcket prpulsin, and in the 1940s, he and several ther peple funded the Jet Prpulsin Labratry, nw ne f NASA’s leading space-explratin centres.
After vercming sme difficulties during his final few years in the US, Qian returned t China in 1955. He received a her’s welcme frm his hmeland and was put in charge f nt nly develping China’s rcket science but als its space and missile prgramme. At that time, China was pr and its rcket science was undevelped. N institute r university in China ffered rcket science as a majr, and there were n talents r experts in this field in China. Nevertheless, Qian did nt let that discurage him frm taking n the challenge. When asked “Can we Chinese pssibly make missiles?” his reply was a determined “Why nt? We Chinese are able t make the same things that ther peple make.”
Qian’s leadership, China develped the Dngfeng missiles, fllwed by the first generatin f Lng March rckets. In 1970, China successfully launched its first man-made satellite, Dng Fang Hng I, frm a Lng March rcket. Because much f the technlgy behind the Shenzhu rckets can als be traced back t Qian’s research, Qian earned the name f “the father f China’s aerspace”.
Qian read a lt and was extremely knwledgeable, especially in the area f frntier science research. Hwever, what might have made him such an utstanding and creative scientist was prbably his strng interest in ther things, such as music and drawing.
