Fr the past 50 years, the highest-paying jbs have centered n knwledge wrk — especially in science, technlgy and analysis. But the rapid rise f generative AI is beginning t change that. Cmpanies are already cnsidering replacing certain white-cllar rles with artificial intelligence. This change raises an imprtant questin: Will the future ecnmy still need as many creative and analytical wrkers?
The impact extends beynd future wrkers t teachers and parents. Fr years, schls have fcused n getting students ready fr cgnitive jbs. Nw, with AI entering the wrkplace, we need t decide which skills students truly need.
Different frm earlier autmatin that replaced rutine manual labr, AI can nw simulate human-like writing, cding and data analysis. As a result, sme entry-level knwledge jbs may decline. Hwever, AI still struggles with tasks that require deep reasning, empathy, r dealing with unknwn variables. It cannt truly understand human emtins r mtivatins.
That’s why “sft skills” will becme mre imprtant than ever. Cllabratin, empathy, emtinal awareness and creative prblem-slving are difficult t autmate. The gd news is that these skills can be taught in schls tgether with traditinal subjects such as math and reading.
Fr example, teachers can use reflectin exercises t help students recgnize their wn emtins and interactins. Prmpts (提示) like “Write abut a time yu helped smene tday” r “Describe hw yu slved a hard prblem” encurage self-awareness and empathy.
Students can als practice slving pen-ended, real-wrld prblems — such as testing sil samples n schl grunds, designing a scial campaign, r discussing histrical decisins. These activities build flexible thinking and teamwrk-skills that AI cannt cpy.
A new challenge, hwever, is that students may rely n AI t cmplete tasks, bypassing the learning prcess. But genuine understanding requires effrt. Teachers shuld stress the value f slwer learning — thrugh handwriting, grup presentatins, and hands-n prjects — s that students can build cre skills befre using AI tls.
In the end, n ne knws exactly hw AI will change the jb market. Hwever, human skills such as self-awareness, empathy and cmplex prblem-slving will nly grw in value. The mst imprtant lessn schls can teach is this: Dn’t let shrtcuts replace learning. Human abilities — especially the ability t wrk with thers t slve difficult prblems — will always matter.
Cmpared with earlier autmatin, what is special abut AI?
      It can replace manual labr.
It can d sme cgnitive jbs.
      It can finish wrk independently.
      It can understand human emtins.
Why are sft skills becming mre imprtant, accrding t the passage?
They are still difficult fr AI t learn.
They are necessary fr cntrlling AI.
They are easier t measure and test.
They can help cmpanies save csts.
What can teachers d t help students build cre skills?
Stp students frm using AI t d assignments.
Reduce the teaching f traditinal subjects.
Shw the significance f slwer learning.
Encurage students t d mre exercises.
Hw des the authr feel abut the future f human wrkers?
      Wrried.B.Optimistic.
      C.Dubtful.D.Uncaring.
      D
