Traveling by plane can be a bit f a mixed bag. There are plenty f nt-s-fun things that cme with it. Standing in lng lines, being stuck in the middle seat, and having t deal with flight delays (延误) are just sme f them. And here’s anther cmmn truble: getting blcked ears, which is als knwn as “airplane ear”. But why des this happen?

This pressure difference makes the air inside ur ears push against ur eardrums (耳膜). Yu knw, air always mves frm places with high pressure t places with lw pressure. When the air inside ur ears pushes n the eardrums, it makes ur ears feel blcked and uncmfrtable. Smetimes, when the air finally gets ut, ur ears make a “pp” sund. But a lt f peple dn’t like this feeling.
The gd news is, there are sme easy things we can d t help. Drinking sme water, swallwing (吞咽), yawning (打哈欠), r eating hard candies can all be helpful. The air in ur ears is in a tube (管子) called the eustachian tube (咽鼓管). This tube cnnects the middle ear t the back f ur nse and thrat. When we swallw, it can make the eustachian tube pen a little wider. This helps the air inside ur ears cme ut, and then ur ears feel better.
But these things dn’t always wrk. Smetimes, ur ears stay blcked fr a lng time, and it can even start t hurt. Everyne’s bdy and ears are a little different, s the simple ways might nt slve the prblem. If yur ears are still blcked a lng time after yu get ff the plane, yu shuld g t see a dctr. That way, yu can make sure yur ears are kay.
