Fr years, many Achuar have used gasline-pwered bats n the river, but the il must be flwn in by plane frm Ecuadr’ s capital, Quit, making it mre expensive and adding t the carbn emissins (碳排放) cnnected with its use. “Gasline mtrs use a lt f il and pllute the river,” said Angel Wasump, Kara Slar’s directr f peratins and a member f the Achuar cmmunity. “Since the slar bats arrived, families have been giving up these mtrs cmpletely,” he added.
Frmally launched in 2018, Kara Slar is staffed by members f the Achua r cmmunity. Accrding t the rganizatin, the bats perating in Ecuadr have cmpleted ver 300 trips in ttal, carrying ver 1,000 passengers and traveling ver 450 kilmeters per mnth. Curse descriptin
The classes will cnsist f lectures and practical sessins (课). Students will nt nly learn hw t play guqin and sing pems by famus pets frm different Chinese dynasties such as Farewell t Meng Haran at Yellw Crane Terrace by Li Bai, but als will learn standard Chinese thrugh these pems. At the end f the curse, students will be able t sing at least five famus Chinese pems while playing guqin, and will have a brad appreciatin f Chinese culture.
